Why Gruden had to Resign

Loyal readers I’m late on this one, but as you know, I’m a card-carrying Oakland…eh Vegas Raider Nation hater so I have to weigh in.  Jon Gruden aka the Messiah of Aaron Park’s loser squad was “axed to resign” circa 10 days ago.  Yes, during the middle of the season, he got caught up in a scandal involving the Washington Football Team…. yeah, that’s a real name.

Gruden apparently sent quite a few emails when he was out of work to his former GM friend Bruce Allen, the President of the “Football Team.”  These emails were uncovered during an investigation of “Football Team’s” owner Daniel Snyder.  Snyder is a dirt bag accused of all kinds of stuff, but this blog doesn’t focus on him.

Gruden was the collateral damage.  This was because in said emails he called NFLPA (Players Association) leader Demaurice Smith a racially tinged name.  He basically said Smith had large lips and was taken maybe out of context.  Smith was about to be removed as player association leader, so these emails had to drop.  This saved Smith’s career, as he has been a do-nothing bozo as player association leader.

However more came out; Gruden basically went after every single protected class.  He went after trans people (Caitlyn/Bruce Jenner), gay people (Michael Sam) woman, and Jews.  I understand the language he used flowed freely at one point to describe people, trust me, I played football at an all-guys high school, that language was used daily.  Not just by players, it was coaches, teachers, and administrators too.  But it’s not 2004 anymore.  This gets you fired, it’s not just Cancel Culture.  Gruden went after every single protected class.

Here are the actual words; mind you it wasn’t one email it was a bunch.

What did Jon Gruden say in emails?

Gruden used racist, sexist, homophobic and transophobic language in the emails, which the Times reports dated from 2010 through 2018, before Gruden was hired by the Raiders for his second stint with the team. Per the Times, he often called NFL commissioner Roger Goodell a “f—t” and a “clueless anti football p—y.” He also used homophobic slurs to describe NFL owners, coaches and reporters who cover the league.

Gruden also reportedly exchanged emails with Allen and others that included photos of women wearing only bikini bottoms. One photo reportedly included two Washington Football Team cheerleaders. Per the Times, Gruden and Allen also sometimes included Ed Droste, the co-founder of Hooters; Jim McVay, an executive who has run the Outback Bowl; and Nick Reader, the founder of PDQ Restaurants, in the emails.

Per the Times, Droste in 2017 shared a sexist meme of a woman refereeing in the NFL, with Gruden replying, “Nice job roger.”

Gruden also criticized larger issues that surfaced in or otherwise had platforms of discussion in the league. For example, he reportedly criticized former President Barack Obama during his 2012 reelection campaign and called then-vice president Joe Biden a “nervous clueless p—y.” Gruden reportedly also denounced the league for attempting to reduce concussions, adding that Eric Reid — who demonstrated during the playing of the national anthem as a form of protest against police brutality — should be fired.

Raiders coach Jon Gruden admits he insulted Roger Goodell in 2011 emails

In 2015, Gruden condemned a congressional bill that attempted to force Washington to change its name from the Redskins, which many Native Americans view as a slur. Gruden received a link, also that year, detailing how players wanted Goodell to support them in efforts to promote racial equality and criminal justice reform.

“He needs to hide in his concussion protocol tent,” Gruden said.

Gruden also singled out individuals as targets of his hateful language. That includes Caitlyn Jenner, whom Gruden mocked when she won an award in 2015 after transitioning. He also asked Allen to tell Bryan Glazer, whose family owns the Buccaneers, to perform oral sex on him. Allen reportedly responded that Glazer would “take you up on that offer.”

Gruden coached Tampa Bay from 2002 through 2008.Gruden also targeted Michael Sam, who came out as gay before attempting an NFL career, and Smith.

Michael Sam

Per the Times, Gruden criticized Goodell for pressuring former St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher to draft “q—rs.” That was a reference to Sam, who came out as gay ahead of the 2014 NFL Draft and was selected with the Rams’ second-to-last pick in the seventh round. He spent the 2014 season on St. Louis and Dallas’ practice squads, later spending time in the CFL with the Montreal Alouettes.

Prior to his resignation, Gruden coached the NFL’s first openly gay active player, Carl Nassib, who came out ahead of the 2021 season.

DeMaurice Smith

The email that initially got Gruden in hot water was a 2011 email to Allen in which he used a racist trope to describe Smith:

“Dumboriss Smith has lips the size of michellin (sic) tires.”

Jon Gruden’s second coming to save the Raiders

Jon Gruden’s comments after emails leaked

Gruden, perhaps in an attempt to soften the comments he hurled at Smith, told ESPN on Friday that the NFLPA executive director wasn’t the only person he insulted in 2011 during labor disputes that led to a lockout: He said he also insulted Goodell:

“I was in a bad frame of mind at the time (in 2011), and I called Roger Goodell a (expletive) in one of these emails too,” he told ESPN. “They were keeping players and coaches from doing what they love with a lockout. There also were a lot of things being reported publicly about the safety of the sport that I love. I was on a mission with high school football (in the Tampa, Fla., area) during that time, and there were a lot of parents who were scared about letting their kids play football. It just didn’t sit well with me.”

Folks the Glazer family owns the Tampa Bay Bucs, the team Chief cheers for, Gruden has since been removed from the Ring of Honor aka the teams Hall of Fame.  Gruden was erased, he is gone.  Going after Smith could be explained away possibly.  Jenner?  Well, no one likes a transgender Republican so ditto there.  Going after women in the NFL is bizarre as they now make up 55% of the viewership, and it’s growing quickly.  Going after Goodell and gays did him in, Goodell has a gay son.  Gruden has officially ended his coaching/broadcasting years.  He worked for ESPN for a while in between gigs.  It was brought to my attention he could coach in college…. are you kidding me?  They are more woke than the NFL.

The real lesson here is this, while some possibly share Gruden’s beliefs, it’s always best to do so verbally.  Gruden not only emailed these thoughts, but he also sent them to Bruce Allen’s work email.  A work email folks is not protected, and for most, you see a pop-up when you log into your work computer saying “they know every click”, or” any emails sent are property of the entity you work for”.  Hence Gruden has no leg to stand on in regard to any sort of wrongful termination suit.  Worse yet, he back loaded his 10 year 100 million contract, he is currently in year 4, and up words of 85 million could be lost.  Gruden was not the target here, but he is the scapegoat.  Collateral damage was needed as the scandal involving the Washington Football team is big.  I call it a PHD lawsuit, since its Piled High and Deep.

The Chief

PS Troll emailed me saying “Why did they find Grudens 10-year-old emails but cannot recover Hillary Clinton’s emails.”  Just a thought on this.

BTW Troll continues his quest for a date with Jen Anniston or Hope Hicks, his commentary will resume soon.

The Supply Chain is a Crisis of our own Making

Unless you live under a rock, think Joe Biden is a good president, or are related to one of the Park Brothers, you likely have heard our supply chain is in dire straits.  Our Commander in Chief is obviously bothered as well.  I saw the Clinton News Network hosted a “Presidential town hall” with Biden last night to give him a chance to explain away all his failures.

Joe Biden does CNN Townhall

Anderson Cooper was a great host as he cherry picked questions from 15 folks in the “audience chosen at random.”  Like any Biden Q and A session, the participants were carefully vetted and handed a softball question to ask.  Of the 15, 10 were registered Democrats, 3 were Republicans and 2 were Independent.  Definitely a hostile crowd for Ole Slow Joe.  This campaign event, I mean propaganda event, I mean town hall was based in Republican voter rich Baltimore.  Biden basically said he had no answers for the fuel crisis. But he was considering calling up the National Guard for the shipping crisis.  And…. Yeah, thank god my hour on the treadmill at the gym was done, because that was torture to watch.  Shame on CNN for airing that, and shame on us for electing this fellow to be President.

Anderson Coper asks hard hitting questions

I will sum up clearly and succinctly what the supply chain issues are really about.  They are not just the doing of Joe Biden’s failed presidency; this has been going on since Bill Clinton.  Believe it or not, NAFTA aka the North American Free Trade Agreement was a major catalyst.  The goal of NAFTA was to create a free trade zone, free of tariffs, to allow a flow of goods and services across borders.  In theory this is a good idea, it tears down borders and disputes and creates “friendly neighbors.”  However, NAFTA has evolved and not in a good way.

NAFTA in the last 15 years has become a catalyst for corporations to reduce expenses and outsource jobs.  One of the most argued points cited by myself and others are “we used to build things in the USA, now we no longer do.”

The reasoning here is we used to have factories to assemble the parts imported from Mexico, but with increased expenses here domestically, we now build it in Mexico.  Furthermore, Mexico sends it here and we “finish it,” in essence we put the stickers and decals on it, and a few other accents and can still call it “made in the USA.”  In many ways this was palpable because expenses were cut, and our producing workforce could transition to a “paper pushing” workforce.  Workers were mostly happy, shareholders were trilled, and executives bonused out at year end.   Win.  Win.  Win.  Right?

Incorrect.  As time went on, more and more jobs were sent to Mexico, and Mexico has become a developed country.  I say that in a sense that the workers there now want more money and benefits.  As a result, the job merry go round has started again.  Jobs from Mexico have migrated to China, and neighboring countries.  Many of which employ slave labor, child labor, prison labor or just flat-out deplorable conditions.  But that’s ok, because you need your new TV, iPhone etc. and you ain’t paying full price.  So, you ignore that part of the supply chain.

Enter the virus.

I’m leaving the political BS out of this blog in regard to the Corona Virus.  We locked down in the USA, and other countries followed suit.  It was supposed to be 14 days, which has turned into almost 2 years.  The vaccine was the end all, cure all…. not so much.  It didn’t affect the US that much because other countries produce most of what we consume.  But over time, the virus spread to countries we import products from, and this has exasperated the issue.  Most recently Vietnam has locked down its factories; don’t believe me look it up yourself, most of our clothing is made in Vietnam.  With those countries locked down, we get no additional clothing sent here.  Contrary to the belief of some, we here in the US are not able to build a factory to make said clothing here.

Furthering my point, the lockdowns here taught us one thing, the workers have the upper hand.  Currently and recently, we have seen striking workers for; Nabisco, Frito-Lay, Deere, Kellogg and parts of the healthcare sector.  These workers were ordered to work during the pandemic, most given mandatory overtime and restrictions on time off requests.  At year’s end they were given a small bonus of a few hundred, maybe a thousand if they were lucky.  Management got far bigger bonuses and shareholders got even richer, keep in mind the former stayed at home during the pandemic because it was safer for them and their workers.  We are now seeing a revival of unions, don’t believe me, but look around.

The problems at the port are another issue.  However, we are focused on the cranes and the operators, what we need are semi-trucks and trailers to move those containers once off loaded.  We don’t have those, so the containers are stacked on shore.  Running the port 24/7 as senile Joe suggests isn’t the problem.  Corporations for years have mistreated the drivers of said trucks, so now we are unable to find workers to do that.  Most corporations, especially Target made the drivers contractors, and required them to bid on a route, and pay for the gas, lease payment, insurance et. Al. This resulted in truck drivers making close to zero when expenses were paid.  Don’t believe me, look it up.  Again, Target is one of the worst offenders here, but that’s ok, because they told Biden they want to help.

Editor’s Note: The Federal government and California in particular has also punished truck drivers in a number of ways including limiting the number of hours per day that they can drive and outlawing independent operators via AB-5, diesel engine regulations, and other restrictions.

The long blog short here is the workers in factories are burned out, and years of consolidation are partly to blame.  Look at Campbell Soups, they used to have a plant in California, but due to costs they shut it down, production moved to Texas.  This is a no-brainer, until Texas is snowed out.  Pretty hard to get soup from Troy, Ohio to California.  In addition, try building a plant in the USA to make something, forget for a minute the ungodly amounts of red tape (unless you want to build a basketball arena downtown, somehow the red tape vanishes for that) you also have to build it, hire, train workers, and have production lines set-up and built.  This is not easy, and it’s a tough sell to shareholders who expect you to beat last quarter’s earnings and lower your expenses.  American workers get breaks, lunch, benefits, and extra time, these are federal and state laws.

While Senile Joe may have won the day yesterday, he has lost long term.  The issues of years of outsourcing and production cuts, met with lockdowns have created a toxic cocktail.  Sadly, for people like Jorge Riley, this isn’t a cocktail that you want to drink.  The problem is going to get worse.  Here are a few examples of just what we are facing here.

I bought a jacket on sale $22 marked down from $44, I ordered the wrong size, I shipped back for a return.  The company I purchased from said due to supply chain issues I could not exchange unless I paid the difference.  Another package I ordered sat in a FedEx office for 7 days in Sacramento prior to making the trip to the world headquarters of reallyright.com.  Keep in mind we live about 15 miles from Sacramento.

The Chief

Editor’s Note: Our family has been buying gift baskets from a company that ships from Oregon to California. Every order that we have placed in the last year starts with an estimated delivery date of about a week but in reality, it takes 6 to 8 weeks before it actually ships to our Sacramento suburb. Ditto for our new Samsung phone order. Delivery keeps getting delayed.

Urban “Oscar” Meyer is in big Trouble

A “Friend” of this blog, Urban Meyer found himself in a bit of a pickle this past weekend in Ohio.  Urban Meyer, if you can’t recall, is the former University of Florida/Ohio State football coach, and currently employed as coach of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars.  Meyer is a classic example of a true scumbag.  At both college stops, Meyer stepped down from coaching due to “heart issues.”  On the surface most would believe this, coaching is very difficult at the highest levels, and between the practices/workouts/games, and recruiting there is no offseason.  Stress is a big thing.

However it always seemed his “stress levels” would elevate around the time his teams no longer would be competing for a championship.  Meyer always had a charm to him, and because he coached Tim Tebow he was viewed as a great molder of young men.  This is not correct, Tebow was an outlier, Meyer’s teams always had plethora of players on the police blotter.  Some for heinous crimes, such as gun possession or armed robbery.

Meyer retired from Florida to work for ESPN.  He denied any rumors of him being interested in the Ohio State job, and low and behold, when the season ended, he was named head coach at Ohio State University!  Stunner.  No way would Urban Lie!

After a few years and a championship at Ohio State, once again health issues forced him to “retire for good.”  He was hired at Fox Sports.  Then he took the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL job.  He is being paid around 12 million a year.

Here is where the trouble comes into play.

His team played Thursday 9/30 and lost to the Cincinnati Bengals. After the game, the team customarily flies back to Jacksonville.  Meyer stayed behind, this is unheard of.  Seriously, it never happens.  Meyer had an excuse; he is from the area and wanted to stay out to see his grandchildren and some friends.  Not a crime but a bad look for a first-year coach of an 0-4 team.  However what happened next was a way worse look and a PR nightmare.

A cell phone video came out showing Meyer at a bar/dance club sitting in a chair and receiving what basically amounted to a lap dance from a young co-ed.  I would put the girl around mid to late twenties.

Meyer is in his fifties.  Meyer said “”They wanted me to come over and take pictures, and I did. They were trying to pull me out on the dance floor, screwing around, and I should have left.”  Wrong answer.  It likely could have worked, but Urban is all about being holier than thou.  A separate video dropped, one of Meyer grabbing said female’s rear end, cupping it, and squeezing it.  He does not appear to push her away or tell her stop.  The grabbing of her behind just further exemplifies Urban plays by different rules than we do.

Editor’s Note: Its worse than The Chief thought because Meyers has “known” the woman since June.

It only took a few days for Twitter to figure out who the young lady is and her name is Cayman Nebraska. She put her IG on private after a 2nd video of her saying someone got a video of Meyer sticking his fingers up her butt.

To make things worse, Twitter dug deeper and found out that the two have seemingly known each other since at least June.

Urban Meyer’s Lap Dance Girl Has Been IDed As Cayman Nebraska And She’s Known Urban For Months

By Tuesday, he seemed a bit more contrite, apologizing to the team’s owner and the players.  Depending on who you read, the plyers do not seem to buy his line of garbage.  (Some players are famous for having a different girl in each city they play in; home and away.)  Urban was out trolling for booty and he most likely got some or got what he wanted.  It appears Mrs. Meyer and the Jaguar’s owner Shad Kahn are none to impressed.  Meyer is likely toast after the season ends.  In reality he should be more worried about his marriage and home life.  I doubt Mrs. Meyer was impressed by the first video, and likely was even more upset after viewing the second; especially after seeing a comment from said co-ed, “I love how someone got a picture of Coach Meyer sticking his fingers up my a**.”  We call that game over folks.  Meyer cannot run now.

Check out some of these quotes from Urban the Liar and others,

“It was stupid, so I explained everything that happened and owned it. Just stupid. I should not have myself in that kind of position,” Meyer continued.

Jaguars owner Shad Khan released a statement on Tuesday saying that Meyer will have to “regain our trust and respect” after the videos surfaced over the weekend.

“I have addressed this matter with Urban,” Khan said in the statement, via NFL.com. “Specifics of our conversation will be held in confidence. What I will say is his conduct last weekend was inexcusable. I appreciate Urban’s remorse, which I believe is sincere. Now, he must regain our trust and respect. That will require a personal commitment from Urban to everyone who supports, represents or plays for our team.”

Khan also called Urbans behavior “inexcusable.”

His players said this, “He even canceled the team meeting. He was too scared,” a player told Silver.

Meyer reportedly “only apologized to position groups individually.” Meyer said the woman in the video was a random person who was “just there dancing.”

“We looked at him like, WTF? Right when he left everyone started dying laughing. And he knew it,” the unnamed player told Silver. “It’s bad. I don’t know how he’s gonna function.”

One Jaguar’s player said the head coach “has zero credibility in that stadium” and “he had very little to begin with,” according to NFL reporter Mike Silver.

This is a tale as old as time, Meyer has always had folks making excuses for him.  The heart issues were a crock of crap, he never likes facing consequences.  Now he has lost the locker room, and his boss.  His wife likely knows by Urban’s actions in the videos that was definitely not his first time.  Actually he looked quite comfortable doing that.  Not even trying to be sly.  Meyer showed the world his a** and now he feels depressed, small and alone.  Look for health reasons to be his reason for moving on.

By the way Meyer was also accused of cutting players from the final roster who were not vaccinated.  He was later kind of exonerated, but knowing Urban I doubt it.

PS word to the wise, everyone has a camera phone, even the elderly, be careful out on public.  Marriages, careers, and even lives have been ruined since the invention of these devices.

Let’s Check back in on “Super depressed” Simone Biles Shall we?

It is only right to check in on the depressed every so often because…well we need to make sure they are ok.  So, we wanted to check back in on Simone Biles.

After doing a thorough check of her social media, we can confirm she was full of human excrement during the Olympics.  Check this out, boy does she ever look bad.

Simone has been busy on her Gold Over America tour, but the gymnastics GOAT just got a much-deserved day off. Naturally, she made good use of her downtime.

Simone shared some pics on Instagram of herself enjoying a little QT. There’s Simone hanging out in a black tank and mini skirt by a palm tree, and Simone posing by a stack of bright towels. “Day off = ur local pool girl,” she joked in the caption. Simone looks amazing in the pics, naturally, and it’s kinda hard to miss the fact that her legs look super toned.

Simone Biles’ Legs Look So Sculpted In A Miniskirt In New Poolside Pics

Yeah, she looks flat out depressed.  In the meantime, I wish we could check in on some of the girls who were left off the Olympic team.  You know the ones who couldn’t make the trip so Biles could do the most American thing ever and grandstand?  However, like the question of how many licks to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop…the world may never know.

In the meantime, she was interviewed about her Olympic experience.  Specifically, her getting the “twisties”

“Say up until you’re 30 years old, you have your complete eyesight,” she said. “One morning, you wake up, you can’t see shit, but people tell you to go on and do your daily job as if you still have your eyesight. You’d be lost, wouldn’t you? That’s the only thing I can relate it to. I have been doing gymnastics for 18 years. I woke up – lost it. How am I supposed to go on with my day?”

Simone Biles says she never should have made the Olympic team

Yep, no one who is blind ever asks the questions how they will get through their day. What an aloof girl.  The Greatest of all time mind you.  So good at her craft a simple little thing like a mental health cramp shuts her down.  The horror.  Imagine her going through actual trauma like being blind.

She went on….

I should have quit way before Tokyo,” Biles continued, “when Larry Nassar was in the media for two years. It was too much. But I was not going to let him take something I’ve worked for since I was 6 years old. I wasn’t going to let him take that joy away from me. So, I pushed past that for as long as my mind and my body would let me.”

Yes Simone you should have.  What Larry Nassar did to you was terrible.  The FBI screwing it up is par for the course, I do feel bad for you.  But if your head wasn’t right, you never should have made the trip.  It exposed your lie about mental illness.  As I mentioned above, she looks quite depressed doesn’t she?

Gina Raimondo: What Pure evil Looks Like

I get it; you’re collectively saying “who?”  Raimondo is the former governor of tiny little Rhode Island who “failed upwards” by being anointed Commerce Secretary by the current Democrat Party.  I won’t say Joe Biden because we all know he “aint callin’ the shots.”  Raimondo who is famous for shutting her state down during Covid, might just be what pure evil is. Like all other Democrat governors and weak-kneed Republican ones, under the fake guise of Covid being the plague, she actually stopped commerce.  I guess she deserved promotion?

Raimondo was approved by the Senate and most recently made headlines again for wanting to use the Defense Production Act (DPA) to produce more “electronic chips” like the ones in computers, and most new cars.

“The Biden administration is considering invoking a Cold War-era national security law to force companies in the semiconductor supply chain to provide information on inventory and sales of chips, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said Thursday.

The goal is to alleviate bottlenecks that have idled U.S. car production and caused shortages of consumer electronics and to identify possible hoarding, she said in an interview.

Her team for months has sought clarity into how companies allocate their semiconductor supply. But previous meetings that convened firms from different industrial sectors haven’t led to increased transparency and many companies have refused to hand over business data to the government.

The Commerce Department is now asking companies to fill out questionnaires within 45 days providing supply chain information. The request is voluntary but Raimondo said she warned industry representatives that she might invoke the Defense Production Act or other tools to force their hands if they don’t respond.

“What I told them is, ‘I don’t want to have to do anything compulsory but if they don’t comply, then they’ll leave me no choice,’” she said. “I said today we’re evaluating all of our options right now, all the tools. I hope not to go there but we need to see some progress and we definitely need compliance.”

White House Weighs Invoking Defense Law to Get Chip Data

I will go ahead and say it.  What an evil b***h this women is.  Hand over your data to the government?  Fill out questionnaires?  What the heck is this?  Compliance of what?  Just remember folks she is from the government, and she is here to help!  Big shout out to the “never Trumpers” I say to them I hope they reap what they sow.  Things may be bad but at least the Orange Man isn’t tweeting mean things!

If you are wondering, the DPA is a large government order that essentially requires business to adapt and do anything possible to ramp up production of needed materials for national defense.  The DPA has been around for since 9/8/1950 around the Korean War I believe.  Trump used this during early Covid stages essentially forcing Ford/GM and others to make ventilators since, well every American would be on one…. because Covid.

Now apparently computer chips are a vital national security thing, I guess we need to make sure junior has a faster laptop to play Grand Theft Auto, or my new F-150 super duty can be finally put together.  Since you know those are real priorities right now.

My biggest gripes are this.  Benevolent Queen Raimondo shut her state down, and kept it shut, not following science, she was following Fauci.  Now she wants entire industries to not only work but work harder.  Yeah, did you know any person ignoring her decree about DPA is subject to a felony and a $10,000 fine?  All while government workers, most corporation’s office staffs, long term unemployed, and executives stay at home, because errrrr Covid.  Yeah.  Makes no sense to me.  Push paper?  Well, you can do that at home.  Work in a factory?  Get your butt to work and prepare for 60-hour work weeks!  No time off, no vacation.  This is a decree from your benevolent queen.

Sadly, idiots like Raimondo honestly think this decree will help.  The worst part is, more and more workers will simply walk off the job, it simply isn’t fair to them to sacrifice while others stay at home.  We have seen it play out at Frito Lay and Oreo plants across the country, with workers walking off the job due to conditions and poor work life balance.  Sadly, Raimondo and the Democrats will never understand this.  Maybe that is why the jobs report wasn’t that great the other day?

Hopefully I can get a chip from China for my new laptop or my new truck soon!

The Chief

(Editor’s Note: President Trump was accused of xenophobia and hating minorities when he expressed concerns about microchip production being vital to our economy and saying that it should be in the US and not overseas. Raimondo invoking DPA is another case of symbolism over substance. She is grandstanding on an issue which she has no control over. )

A Bishop Fools ESPN

People get fooled by con artists all the time. It must work or why would so many people be trying to hustle us? Some of the best know Internet cons include: the Nigerian Prince promising you millions after you send 4 installments of several thousand, or your friend that has been robbed in some other country and turns to you to wire them money, or the person threatening to send your internet search history to your wife.  The cons exist everywhere and prey on those unsuspecting. Corporations sometime get fooled as well; it happens, although no one gets fooled like ESPN did a week ago.

Check this story out.

ESPN a Disney subsidiary has been televising high school football games on Friday/Saturday and Sundays for several years now.  These games highlight matchups of high school powerhouses traveling across state lines to play one another.  In addition, they showcase junior and senior athletes that are some of the most sought after prospects by colleges across the country.  These games are very popular as college recruiting has taken off in the last seven years.  These games attract quite a few eye balls, and the matchups are intriguing.  Also there isn’t much else to watch during this period on ESPN so it fills a time slot.

Now the con job comes into play.

One of the matchups featured Florida powerhouse IMG Academy vs Bishop Sycamore a school out of Ohio.  The game was played and IMG won 58-0.  IMG Academy is a school boasting between 15-20 players who will play high level Division 1 football upon graduating, including 7 in the top 100 of ESPN’s own ranking database as seniors.  Bishop Sycamore claimed to have several Division 1 caliber athletes….emphasis on claimed.  In the 3rd quarter with the game out of hand, the commentators wondered aloud why this game was being played and at one point even called into question player safety.  Yes the game was that lopsided.  Here is a quote from ESPN about this… Paragon who is referenced apparently is a broker in finding these matchups to be aired.

“We regret that this happened and have discussed it with Paragon, which secured the matchup and handles the majority of our high school event scheduling. They have ensured us that they will take steps to prevent this kind of situation from happening moving forward.”

So what happened exactly here?  These same 2 squads matched up a year ago.  Another quote regarding the “so called top players on Bishop Sycamore”

“Bishop Sycamore told us they had a number of Division I prospects on their roster, and to be frank, a lot of that, we could not verify,” ESPN’s announcers said during the game “They did not show up in our database, they did not show up in the databases of other recruiting services. … From what we’ve seen so far, this is not a fair fight.”

Well it isn’t hard to discover Bishop Sycamore is a fake school.  First off, the term “Bishop” usually has an association with the catholic church/diocese in the area.  The Columbus area diocese has no record or affiliation with this school.  Ditto for the governing body of high school sports in all of Ohio.  Bishop Sycamore claims they are a charter school but can’t claim a sponsoring entity.  Maybe the following is why.

Chief says this is an actual bishop sycamore or a tree in close proximity to a Catholic Church

Bishop Sycamore is a scam, they are run by 2 men, Roy Johnson who has warrants out for his arrest for passing bad checks, among other things, and Andre Patterson a former Ohio State football player.  Patterson is listed as director, and assistant football coach. (Update: Johnson was fired, now Patterson is in charge.)  Patterson for his part continued the con job by saying the following about the talent on his “team”

“I try to defend when people who say, ‘Oh well, yeah, you lied about kids having Division I offers?’” Peterson said. “Well, I guess the best way for me to fight against that is having you sit down with us on signing day.”

Signing day is the day high school seniors make their decision of where to play in college.  Mr. Patterson is either delusional or has lied to himself so much he actually believes his schtick.  Bishop Sycamore had the wind taken out of its sails by a couple former “players” who said the class room consisted of just a building where we were told we could do classes, emphasis on could.  The classes were allegedly put on by a prep school online.  There was no practice schedule or field. They played in abandoned parking lots (yep) or fields at a local park.  When I tell you “tuition” (I use that term loosely) was $2,000 a year, it may start to come into focus.  This wasn’t a school; it was a glorified travel ball team.  When they traveled to the host team’s site, they would stay in a hotel, several to a room, with fraudulent check writing Roy Johnson “fitting the bill.”  One parent even said he wound up paying for the whole team once, as when he went to check-out, the front desk lady said no one had paid, and the credit card on file was rejected.  My favorite was the team was evicted from its own “team lodging apartment complex.”  The school has no address. It uses a PO Box and the website is too damn funny, it was taken down prior to publishing of this blog.  My favorite part was under each school centric tab, the drop down menu would say coming soon.  Here is the check writing shenanigans…

Canton Police Lt. Dennis Garren confirmed Wednesday that hotel management reported the team stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Canton South, 4025 Greentree Ave. SW, on Friday and Saturday, renting 25 rooms.

According to police reports, the hotel reported two invalid checks totaling $3,596. Garren said they were written on an account listed to Education Resources Group of New York, New York.

Bishop Sycamore accused of stiffing Canton hotel, writing invalid checks

To further the con, the members of this team were a who’s-who of undesirable folks, and by saying that I mean no racial bias.  Some of the players were 19 or 20 year olds making this squad a danger to those it played against.  Additionally some had criminal records and would have been found ineligible just like the other “young adults.”  These players were from all over the country and would have been impossible to track on a database.

Bad News Bears coaching staff

Just check out what Coach Tayven Jackson has to say about the school his team “plays for”

Jackson spoke with NBC4 in Columbus, Ohio over the weekend and answered questions about Bishop Sycamore, providing a fairly blunt assessment that actually seems to line up with what most people assumed in the first place.

“We do not offer curriculum,” Jackson told NBC4. “We are not a school. That’s not what Bishop Sycamore is, and I think that’s what the biggest misconception about us was, and that was our fault. Because that was a mistake on paperwork.”

Jackson later refers to Bishop Sycamore as a “post-grad football academy.”

NBC4 notes that when they pressed him on what that mistake was or entailed, Jackson didn’t provide any further information and said he didn’t know much about the paperwork, which was submitted to the Ohio Department of Education before he was hired.

They also pressed him on the fact that the “school” had reported a bell schedule for the prior year, beginning at 7:10 a.m. and going until 3:05 p.m. As for why a school that is not a school would have a bell schedule, Jackson had no answers. Bishop Sycamore head coach: ‘We are not a school’ but a ‘post-grad football academy’

Bishop Sycamore head coach: ‘We are not a school’ but a ‘post-grad football academy’

Stunning.  These schools pop up all over the country, some like IMG and others are legit, and can make your son/daughter into a much better athlete and earn that scholarship.  Others like this Bishop Sycamore are also common, and they are a scam.  This school didn’t even have an away uniform, so when they played IMG both schools were wearing black uniforms.  They even started a gofundme.com page to raise money for their uniforms.   Roy Johnson, Tayven Jackson and others all talk a good game, but it’s a load of crap.  Check out this comment by a former player “lunch and dinner?  Whatever we could steam from Walmart or a convenience store, they didn’t provide us with anything.  What a fecal blizzard this whole thing is.  ESPN is exclusively at fault here, they could have done some due diligence, even a little and it would have turned up this whole thing didn’t pass the smell test.  By the way Sycamore played a game the Friday night prior to the Sunday game against IMG, this is dangerous on a whole nother level.  These folks have zero regard for player safety.  Folks football is glorified gladiator, I played it in High School, there is a reason the games are held once a week, it does a toll on your body.  More crap from this scandal:

Bad News Bears got nothin on these guys

It was revealed that Johnson recruited the students with the prospect of “practicing at Ohio State‘s facilities.” In reality, they held practice outside of an apartment complex that housed students at Ohio State. The team also did not have athletic trainers, which resulted in the athletes playing injured. The apartments housing the students frequently evicted them after Johnson failed to pay rent. Many players already graduated from high school and there “were four or five kids that were 20, 21, [and] had children of their own.”  A number of players had legal issues; at one point so many players had active arrest warrants that the team couldn’t fly to away games. One player actually joined the team immediately after being released from jail. The team also struggled with camaraderie; a former player claimed there were at least five fights at every practice. Heads should be rolling at ESPN but I mean does anyone even have cable anymore?  I found out this story on the website awfulannouncing.com I visit every so often.  I used to think the cable companies were a con job, turns out it’s the cable companies getting conned by a school, who in turn cons you the payor.  Ouch.  Glad ESPN could not be bothered to check the top high school player rankings they literally have on their website…ouch.  Or maybe a Google search to see this school used to be called Christians of Faith Academy, which folded under the same scenario.   Or their story about being affiliated with the third district of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, another lie as the church claimed to have zero affiliation with this group.  An investigation showed money did exchange hands between the two…no shock most churches would take money from Satan himself today.  Roy Johnson also used the church’s name and the school’s name when he was selling life insurance in another scam…. FACEPALM.  there is a lot more out there folks.  But man is this fun to write about.  The worldwide leader in sports scammed by a group of guys who toss a pigskin round on a green belt.  Only thing this story is missing is uncle Jimbo who could thro  ball over them thar mountains, or stories about multiple DUI’s.

Folks if it sounds too good to be true it likely is.

PS:  The name Bishop Sycamore Centurions I will say is a pretty scary sounding team to play against so I will give them some credit here.  I however do not remember a bishop named after a tree in the Bible but oh well.

Massive Food Inflation/Shortages Coming

We here at the blog have warned you; lockdowns, extra $300 a week benefits, vax vs anti-vax, and general fear would eventually lead to issues in the overall economy.  You likely thought we were tin foil hat wearing wackos.  Well, include Sysco as a wacko as well, or maybe they are credible?

Sysco is the largest food distributor in North America. You may recognize their trucks delivering to restaurants.  Sysco provides food supplies to restaurants, jails, schools, and most concert venues or event halls.  Chances are if you go out or “grab a bite” somewhere you likely are eating something from a Sysco truck.  Well Sysco reported earnings earlier this week and, on the call, gave these dire warnings and I quote.

Sysco, North America’s largest wholesale food distributor, which is turning away customers in some areas where demand is exceeding capacity.

U.S. Food Suppliers Are Having Trouble Keeping Shelves Stocked

“There are certain areas across the country that are more challenged by the labor shortage and our volume of orders is regularly exceeding our capacity,” Sysco Chief Executive Officer Kevin Hourican said in a letter to clients earlier this month. “This has, unfortunately, led to service disruptions for some of our customers.”

Hourican’s troubling observations were confirmed by an analysis from DecaData, which tracks retailer transactions with shoppers and manufacturers; it showed that retailers are bumping up against manufacturer capacity as they stockpile ahead of the holiday season. In July, the incidence of suppliers limiting or putting a cap on orders from customers was more than double what it was in January, its data show.

Largest US Food Distributor Having Trouble Keeping Shelves Stocked; Price Shock Imminent

I know what you are thinking, its one supplier, crying wolf, well united Natural Foods is another large distributor, here is what they said.

Another major distributor, United Natural Foods is having trouble getting food to stores on time. The company blamed not just labor shortages, but also delays in the procurement of some imported goods like cheese, coconut water and spices, as causing the problems.

“We anticipate additional supplier challenges in the short term with gradual improvement through the fall and winter,” a United Natural Foods representative said. The company’s top priority is to support customers “by working diligently to recover and bring their shelves back to normal inventory levels as quickly as possible.”

U.S. Food Suppliers Are Having Trouble Keeping Shelves Stocked

Look at how desperate these corporations are to hire workers.

U.S. companies across industries are reporting a dearth of workers amid sweetened unemployment benefits, stimulus payments and a pandemic that has reduced the appeal of in-person employment. Houston-based Sysco is aggressively hiring warehouse workers and truck drivers and offering referral and sign-on bonuses along with retention money for current staff.

The entire food sector is seeing “massive labor shortages,” Benjamin Walker, senior vice president of sales, marketing and merchandising at Baldor Specialty Foods told Bloomberg. “Service levels are the lowest I’ve seen in my 16-year career, and it doesn’t seem like it’s going away anytime soon.” Finding truck drivers is “next to impossible,” he said, while freight costs are rising daily. The company’s orders are arriving late and consequently facing delays in being sent to customers. On the outbound side, on-time deliveries are still above 50% but have fallen from the usual rate of more than 90%.

“We all thought it would be over by now. It’s just one thing after another,” he said.

“This is going to be the norm for a while.”

Folks get ready. In addition to menu shortages, inflation is coming to restaurants in a very big way soon. For the elite, that means they may not have a steak on the menu, for the serfs, the chicken dish you ordered; they may be out of it.  The price increases hit the corporations first as they have to buy from distributors, but they are coming to a grocer near you, mark my words.  You can already see it in the “ads” each week, you may notice sales prices don’t seem as great anymore.  You may have also heard about water and toilet paper shortages or quotas placed on how many you can buy.  This is not a test or a joke people, we are facing inflation like never before seen in a millennial’s lifetime.  A burger (2 patties) no cheese, or bacon at Five Guys runs almost $10, that does not include fries and a coke.  That price would be laughable a year or two ago, it could be a sale price in another year.

Truth be told, the labor shortage is due to a variety of things, yes, the $300 a week is a thing still and will continue to be.  Also, most truckers have worked non-stop with mandatory overtime since this started, they are burned out, and want/need a family life balance.  As far as the slaughterhouses/production lines for veggies etc., those workers feel the same way, and frankly the wages are not typically conducive to long term employment at one place.

In addition, the shortage of labor has been brewing for years, and our education system is to blame.  I will expand on this in another blog but for years of my childhood anything other than a management desk job with stock options and 10% annual salary increases was a loser job.  Actually 2 former teachers of mine impressed that on me; work at a grocery store…loser, construction…loser, truck driver…loser.  Well, we know are desperate for these positions so much so hiring bonuses are being dangled, they still cannot hire folks.  The reason is truck driving is a skill you need a separate license for, your regular Class C license isn’t what you need.  Getting a class A license takes time, and a behind the wheel test, and lots of training; the acquisition cost to a company is very high.  This is not going to be a short-term fix.

A corporation as big as Sysco unable to deliver foods to some customers; and in some area’s not taking new customers at all.  A recipe for massive disaster.  Again, I’m not citing high prices yet, its scarce availability.

Simone Biles is not the GOAT

Took me a while to write this due to the outrage I have toward vile Biles and her performance at the Olympics this past month.  Folks first of all Simone Bile’s is a gymnast and is very decorated, winning 4 Olympic golds in 2016, along with a bronze.  She has won other various events, but we are only going to discuss the Olympic wins.  Specifically, the 2020 Olympics’ and the nickname she gave herself “The Goat” which means Greatest of All Time.

Bile sporting her trademark goat

Fast forward to 2020 er 2021 due to Covid.  Bile’s who calls herself the GOAT and landed tons of endorsement deals grabbed a silver medal in the team competition, then prior to her events (again she is the best in the world, just ask her) she dropped out, saying it was a mental health crisis.  While we here at reallyright.com respect mental health and the struggles that go along with it, Bile’s story does not add up.

These were her best events so why drop out then, as opposed to earlier?  She claimed to have been suffering from this for a while.  If she was then why not send someone else in her place?  These Olympian folks train for years for this, and most do not get to make the trip as the team size is limited in numbers.  Biles sat out all the events until the balance beam event and she won bronze…congrats?  I say it that way because the media fawned all over her and loved that she was taking a principled stand for mental health.  They proclaimed Biles a role model and someone to be looked up to.  She cost her team and the USA badly.  Good luck explaining that to the media or the cable watching cabal who think she is the greatest of all time.

Bile shows bronze as in win, place, or show

Folks I just want to put someone else in the same scenario and see if you still have sympathy for Ms. Biles. Say someone who actually is the Greatest of All Time, like Tom Brady quit on his team and claimed mental health.  Say 2 minutes left in a game, trailing by 2, and he gets the “twisties.”  For some reason I don’t think the reaction would be anything close to the same.  Quite frankly the major news networks would be trashing him. If you don’t believe me, just tune in after a loss to any news medium.  Brady would stand no chance, since he is a professional athlete.  In the case of Biles, she gets to perform on a big stage once every 4 years, how could a mental health issue stop that?

Tom Brady one of the greatest

My hot take is this and it will likely land me in hot water with our readers, but I feel Biles never took her training seriously.  Maybe it was Covid, or maybe her mouth wrote checks that her body couldn’t cash, or the endorsements came so easy her head wasn’t prepared, who knows, but it seems genuinely odd to sit out of all your big events sans the last one due to mental health.  She claims to have been a foster kid so I would never question her resolve and will to battle against the odds, but when the lights went on she crumbled?  When she returned stateside one would think she would get some help right? Nope, she decided to hang out at her pool next to her boyfriend who she labels “The hottest pool boy ever.”  Doesn’t sound like a mental health crisis to me, sounds like a made-up fairytale.

My take is this, Biles had no mental health issue, she didn’t take her training seriously.  There was pressure on her to get gold, but she decided not to take it seriously. She knows she has natural talent so why worry? The pressure on her was nothing compared to what a normal professional athlete has to handle.  Also, the Olympics were taking place between 1-3 am USA time so it’s not like there was a huge live audience.  In addition, with viewership down over 50% it’s not like it was the talk at the watercooler the following day.  She then got over her crisis for her last event and placed bronze so the media could put a bow on her fantasyland story.  All this from someone who calls herself the greatest of all time and even wears a goat logo on her apparel.

Biles fooled everyone and the media fawned all over it.  This was not a fairytale ending. She manufactured this so her performance would not be judged negatively.  A GOAT does not wuss-out and blame mental health.  If you had a crisis, why didn’t you fly back stateside and seek out help?

Ali said he was the greatest and backed it up

Tom Brady and Muhammad Ali were among the greatest in their respective fields and proved it every chance they got; in contrast, Biles concocted a way to save her fiscal/endorsement butt and laughed all the way to the bank without having to back it up. She is best not compared with other world-class gymnasts but folks like P.T. Barnham.

CA GOP Taxes its Delegates

So, this past Saturday was the California Republican Party Gubernatorial recall election endorsing convention.  It was not held in a hotel or conference room it was done virtually.

Folks, the CAGOP has been misrun for years, and yet no one seems to really care.  You had Tom Del Beccaro drinking to excess and using the delegate list as a dating service, Ron Nehring who flew frequently to Australia; not trying to start or fuel a rumor but I heard there was a mistress involved here.  I do not know much about Jim Brulte or his reign, but I know the party no longer has any money.  We now have first Latinx chair Jessica Millan Patterson, and to say she is a disaster is putting it mildly.  Patterson makes over $250k a year, her counterpart in the very much dominant Democrat Party makes less than half that.

But on to the endorsing convention.

First of all, why is the party endorsing a candidate?  It’s a non-partisan race, due to it being a recall.  The party should only take an endorsement of; Yes to recall Comrade Newsom.  Let the chips fall where they may after.  Well for some reason, a rumor was started that former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer wanted an endorsement, it was parroted around as if it were gospel.  Faulconer did not want the endorsement; actually, no candidate did.  This was being pushed from the inside of the party headquarters, by Shawn Steel, Harmeet Dhillon, and Jessica Patterson.  Again, Faulconer did not want to seek the endorsement, and frankly why would he want to?  Registration is at 24% statewide, it’s a kiss of death.

So, the week of the convention, a movement started to have a “no endorsement vote” which led to a direct appeal from Shawn Steel and Harmeet Dhillion (there are those names again) to not endorse.  The convention started and literally only half the delegates showed up to vote, roughly 800.  This is due to the CAGOP making delegates pay $50 for the right to cast their vote.  I call this a pole tax, yet 800 willingly paid.  The motion to not endorse passed overwhelmingly with about 80% or so voting in favor.  Steel and Dhillon were revered as folks who “stopped the steal;” however, the reality is that they were the conductors of this scheme.  You see, the party charged $50 per delegate which times 800 equals roughly $40K they raised.  Since the convention was virtual there were virtually zero expenses.  Thankfully half the delegates didn’t fall for this pay to play tax scheme, sadly the other half did.

Faulconer did not want the endorsement just to say it again.  This was a drill run by Jessica Patterson via her Lieutenant’s Dhillon and Steel.  You see Dhillon is a former ACLU lawyer who once was viewed as unacceptable to be vice chair of the party however she was elected and has since been re-elected. Shawn Steel is the husband of Congressperson (we don’t do gender here) Michelle Park Steel.  Better known to me as the serpent from the Garden of Eden.  Where there is money, endorsements, or power; you can always see Steel slithering around.  But the delegates and party continue to elect these folks as they now serve as national committee delegates. Sheep do sheep things.

Congrats on paying $50 to endorse no one and taking the principled stand against a candidate who didn’t even want the endorsement. Hope this all works out but it sounds like the party made money, consultants likely made money, and you parted with $50.  Aaron Park put it on his blog the convention lasted so short the price per minute made phone sex a cheaper alternative.  (His words not mine.)  Is it a wonder why several GOP elected’s always seem to side with the Democrats on tax hikes and the party doesn’t care?  The party apparatus just taxed their own activists, and they didn’t seem to care either.  Where is the outrage!

Dr. Fauci Admits to Guessing on Youth and Masking Mandates

Folks it isn’t nice to pick on older citizens, but enough is enough with this Dr. Fauci.  Take a look at what he had to say in an interview with Hugh Hewitt.

“It’s not comfortable, obviously, for children to wear masks, particularly the younger children,” he said. “But you know, what we’re starting to see, Hugh, and I think it’s going to unfold even more as the weeks go by, that this virus not only is so extraordinarily transmissible, but we’re starting to see pediatric hospitals get more and more younger people and kids not only numerically, but what seems to be more severe disease.

“Now we’re tracking that, the CDC is tracking that really very carefully, so it’s going to be a balance that we would feel very badly if we all of a sudden said OK, kids, don’t wear masks, then you find out retrospectively that this virus in a very, very strange and unusual way is really hitting kids really hard,” he continued. “But hopefully, this will be a temporary thing, temporary enough that it doesn’t have any lasting negative impact on them.”

Yep, hopefully it’s temporary and doesn’t have any lasting effects on them.  Kind of like let’s pass the bill to find out what is in it.  Just as a sidebar, my doctor has told me implicitly in regards to masking, “do not wear a mask while working out, it’s horrible for your health as it restricts airflow.”  Yet it is ok for young people to wear masks all day in a school setting?  Oh, furthermore they will not have to wear masks while at lunch, I guess the virus takes a lunch break just like humans do?

Folks this is crazy. Vaccinated or not we must mask, and our kids must mask too. Clearly this stupid vaccine is not all that great. How is it in a country of about 350 million, the only leadership we have is a doctor whose best days are in the distant past?  Shame on Joe Biden for wheeling him out there every day and making him answer questions from reporters about Covid.  No one knows anything about this virus except the Chinese workers at the Wuhan lab, and they aren’t allowed to talk.  We collectively freaked out as a society, mask, no mask, dine in, no dine in, but the numbers never went down.  We demand answers yet our scientists and doctors cannot supply them since we know nothing about this virus and how it behaves.

One last thought, please riddle me this “science believers,” since I had Covid why should I get a vaccine?  Shouldn’t the presence of anti-bodies in my blood be good enough?  One more thought, my colleague did a 2 shot Moderna, a friend did the 2 shot Pfizer.  Both were inoculated four plus months ago, both got Covid, both got it pretty severely.  Maybe quit drinking the Kool Aid and start looking at this with an open mind, we have no answers.  Quit making Fauci “Meet the Depressed” every day.  And quit agreeing to mask mandates and restrictions on your freedoms.  Wear a mask if you want, don’t if you don’t want.

Hope your kids don’t get “affected” by wearing a mask all day at school, but hey science says its ok.  Or was that a Dr who has been wrong the entire time?

Editor’s Note: My wife has been an educator for many years. She has always worked with small children. There is no doubt in her mind that the way Covid is being handled is permanently harming our children. Fearing our neighbors is the stuff of Communist tyrannies not freedom loving Americans. This whole episode is yet another example of the compassion of the wicked being cruelty.
