Cracks in the Lies of Transgenderism

Finally, the cult of transgenderism is getting some pushback from the medical community. In the last week, separate studies in Europe and the United States both document what normal people already knew; namely, pumping hormones from the other gender into your body has lasting, catastrophic, and permanently negative results. Contrary to the lies of the transgender cult, these cannot be reversed simply by stopping injections and or ceasing to take pills. Coupled with another study that came out in the last week that over 96 percent of those that attempted to change their gender as teens, return to their biological gender in their late 20’s.

Transgenderism is a cult that deceives and preys on young people, often when they are vulnerable and feeling alone. Someday I will take a deep dive into why transgenderism is a cult, but for now let me say that changing your name to join the group is something religious. Changing one’s name is not a political or social custom. Changing one’s name when changing to a new religion is as old as the Bible and a practice that continues into current times.

There is “weak evidence” to support puberty blockers for children who identify as transgender, according to a four-year systematic review of transgender medical studies published on Tuesday.

Dr. Hilary Cass, a consultant in paediatric disability at St. Thomas’ Hospital in London, England, and formerly the president of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health, conducted the review in response to a request from the National Health Service (NHS). Cass’ report determined that the current studies on the subject of “puberty suppression” showed little improvement in gender dysphoria in minors and also may push kids toward getting more extreme treatments.

“The systematic review undertaken by the University of York found multiple studies demonstrating that puberty blockers exert their intended effect in suppressing puberty, and also that bone density is compromised during puberty suppression,” the report reads. “However, no changes in gender dysphoria or body satisfaction were demonstrated. There was insufficient/inconsistent evidence about the effects of puberty suppression on psychological or psychosocial well-being, cognitive development, cardio-metabolic risk or fertility.”

Major review finds ‘weak evidence’ supporting puberty blockers for kids

England’s National Health Service banned the use of puberty blockers for children seeking treatment for gender dysphoria, citing limited research.

Puberty blockers, or gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogues (GnRHa), is a class of drugs that suppresses sex hormones in adolescents by continually stimulating the pituitary gland. It will now only be available to children in limited ways, such as clinical trials.

The NHS’s website said, “Puberty blockers (gonadotrophin-releasing hormone analogues) are not available to children and young people for gender incongruence or gender dysphoria because there is not enough evidence of safety and clinical effectiveness.”

NHS England had previously ordered the London-based gender identity clinic at the Tavistock and Portman Trust to shut its doors amid safety concerns.

Puberty blockers have been shown to cause long-term fertility problems in boys, according to a preprint study from Mayo Clinic. The study, which has not yet been peer-reviewed, analyzed more than 130,000 sperm cells from male children with gender dysphoria. All participants were 17 or younger.

The researchers analyzed the testicular cells of boys who had been taking puberty blockers for anywhere from three months to 52 months, and compared them to cells of a control group who had not been on the blockers.

Among those on puberty blockers, the researchers identified mild to severe “sex gland atrophy,” determining that the medications accelerated the aging and function of testicular cells.

The findings suggest that puberty blockers’ impacts may be permanent — disputing claims that such effects can be reversed.

The researchers also detected cases of microlithiasis, which is marked by the presence of small clusters of calcium in the testicles.

Puberty blockers could cause long-term fertility and health issues for boys, study finds: ‘May be permanent’

This is nothing new as a report from Sweden in 2023 found the following:

Swedish doctors at a top medical school released a systemic review of available medical literature on providing puberty blockers to children, and said its use for treating gender dysphoria should be considered “experimental.”

Doctors at the Karolinska Institute, ranked as a top 15 medical school in Europe, published an article in Acta Paediatrica on April 17, which was partly funded by an independent Swedish governmental agency tasked with assessing methods used in healthcare and making recommendations. The review analyzed thousands of studies, and focused on those without significant bias.

The doctors – among them an adviser to Sweden’s medical board – concluded, “GnRHa treatment in children with gender dysphoria should be considered experimental treatment of individual cases rather than standard procedure.” Puberty blockers, or gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogues (GnRHa), is a class of drugs which suppresses sex hormones by continually stimulating the pituitary gland.

A groundbreaking 15-year study conducted in the Netherlands has confirmed that a significant majority of children experiencing gender confusion ultimately outgrow these feelings if left untreated.

The research, tracking over 2,700 children from ages 11 to their mid-twenties, found that while around 11% of participants initially expressed gender non-contentedness, only 4% continued to experience such feelings by age 25.

Published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, the study emphasized the normalcy of questioning one’s identity during adolescence. Lead researcher Dr. Thomas Steensma from the University of Groningen highlighted that gender non-contentedness tends to decrease with age and is often associated with poorer mental health and self-concept.

Contrary to aggressive pushes for early medical interventions promoted by some, including the Biden administration, experts caution against hasty measures. Patrick Brown from the Ethics and Public Policy Center warned against rushing towards permanent surgeries or hormone therapies for teenagers grappling with their identities. More from the study

In addition are stories like this:

WPATH’s [World Professional Association for Transgender Health] Standards of Care 8 recommends adolescents who have received a diagnosis of ‘gender incongruence’ have access to puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries so long as the young person ‘demonstrates the emotional and cognitive maturity required to provide informed consent/assent for the treatment.’

However, in video footage obtained by Environmental Progress of an internal WPATH panel titled Identity Evolution Workshop held on May 6, 2022, panel members admit to the impossibility of getting proper informed consent for hormonal interventions from their young patients.

During the panel, Dr. Daniel Metzger, a Canadian endocrinologist, discussed the challenges faced when attempting to obtain consent from adolescents seeking this medical treatment. Metzger reminded those assembled that gender doctors are ‘often explaining these sorts of things to people who haven’t even had biology in high school yet,’ adding that even adult patients often have very little medical understanding of the effects of these interventions.

Metzger describes young patients attempting to pick and choose the physical effects of hormone therapy, with some wanting a deeper voice without facial hair or to take estrogen without developing breasts. This suggests a very poor understanding of the workings of the human body and the treatment pathway on the part of adolescent patients, something noted by the WPATH expert. ‘It’s hard to kind of pick and choose the effects that you want,’ concluded Metzger. ‘That’s something that kids wouldn’t normally understand because they haven’t had biology yet, but I think a lot of adults as well are hoping to be able to get X without getting Y, and that’s not always possible.’

I pray that this sterility cult dies a quick and sudden death as people repudiate the foolish notion that men can have babies and women can have a penis.

Boundary Country Sheriff Update April 11, 2024

Folks, I do find it ironic that Facebook, run by evil tech brats in Silicon Valley, is the chosen means of communication in a part of the country supposedly inhabited by nothing but militias, Nazis, Christian Nationalists, people wanting to “live off the grid,” and a host of other boogeymen. Especially as Zuckerberg, is Jewish, and is known to use his software to data mine people via tracking cookies and other devices. Facebook tracks users all over the Internet to monetize their clicking habits.

Anyway, this week, Dave Schuman released a letter on Facebook explaining why he resigned (or retired) as a deputy sheriff. He also went on to explain that he is still running for sheriff. I wish to look at this letter just a bit. Dave’s letter raises more questions than it answers. Is he paranoid or is somebody out to get him, or at least derail his run for sheriff? I’ll let you decide.

After I declared my candidacy, and after a law enforcement career spanning decades with this Sheriff’s Office, I was suddenly subjected to a personnel action initiated, in the view of many, for purely political reasons, and designed to defeat my candidacy.

I am prohibited from disclosing all the facts surrounding this action, but have noticed that through social and other media, a good deal of speculation has taken place about this action, and I want to make some things clear to make sure the voters are not misled.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: APRIL 9TH, 2024

1.   I recently retired after a long Peace Officer career in this county with a clean record and no discipline. I retired because I have been eligible …  Speculation and concerns about the timing and the reason for my “personnel action”, is that it was motivated and furthered by political considerations.

If I hadn’t retired, … I might have been prevented from speaking out on vital public matters, …  By choosing not to retire to uphold my First Amendment freedoms, I couldn’t ensure my ability to honestly convey information throughout my campaign; my effectiveness would have been severely limited.

There is no other reason for my retirement at this time …

It’s a political game.  I don’t play games.  I intend to show through my ability to speak freely about the real issues facing this Sheriff’s Office, that the people of this county can’t be fooled by “personnel actions” into voting against their best interests, and I sincerely believe my candidacy is in their best interests.

Dave Schuman

2.  Speculation circulating in social … has largely been based on inadequate information.  I’m running and retiring because it needs to be done to ensure the truth about these matters come out, and I can’t do that as an employee of the Sheriff’s Office.

I’m fully prepared to demonstrate and prove that the “personnel action” that caused public attention was primarily politically motivated.  At present, I am unable to divulge all the evidence, which may lead to unfounded speculation, however, I can inform you that the allegations are baseless.

Individuals knowledgeable about the pertinent issues and unjustly support these assertions, will be pursued through legal recourse. Rest assured, truth and justice will prevail, and you may learn a lot about who leads this county.

3.  I didn’t serve others in law enforcement … only to become ‘UNQUALIFIED’ to serve as Sheriff.

Due to the First Amendment rights, I now enjoy as a retiree and political candidate … I intend to prove it to the people of Boundary County …

This type of political attack hurts families and friends. It has hurt my family a great deal and is not what our County is all about.

Entities within this county are leading us inadequately in certain crucial aspects. Our focus should be on safeguarding our families, friends, and neighbors, rather than engaging in cunning political tactics aimed solely at concealing undisclosed matters related to the performance of these entities’ responsibilities.

I say, there should be transparency in all areas of government, other than ongoing investigations. I intend to conduct my campaign that way, which will encompass discussions surrounding this “personnel action” that have sparked significant attention in the current Sheriff election.

So, Dave says he is under attack from local people who behind the scenes are running the county and trying to ruin him. This boosts the narrative that Travis Stolley is being pushed by the good ‘ole boy network to be the next sheriff because they can control him.

But who is or are the good ‘ole boys?

I’ve only lived here for a year. In other parts of Idaho, I’d speculate that the people running the county were in the LDS church but that is not the case here. There is a strong Mennonite Community here and they represent a large segment of the older families in the community. There is also a local Indian tribe that owns a casino and other assets. They also recently purchased the local newspaper. I know they have money but, in my opinion, they don’t flaunt it to the degree that they could. They seem to be trying to avoid bad publicity and work behind the scenes.

Travis Stolley

The other factor, not in Dave’s letter, is the fact that in the last few years, a large influx of people from other states has moved into this area. I would say most are from California, then Oregon and Washington, although folks from other states have moved here too. For example, our electrician is from Hawaii. The old and established families are being displaced by this influx of new people and things here are changing in ways they certainly don’t like. For example, the price of housing here has about tripled since Covid.

The other possibility is that there isn’t a good ‘ole boy system at all. Maybe it’s a myth or supposition made by outsiders. Given that there are definitely cliques here, I think it likely that there are factions. Going to the right church certainly opens doors when seeking employment here. I hear lots of such stories from the contractors that we are hiring to do our house.

Travis Stolley

After drafting this post, I spoke to someone in the community that I respect, and I was assured that the good ‘ole boy club in the area is the real deal and a vicious bunch to deal with if you get on their bad side. After experiencing their wrath, this person was shocked at the things they were willing to fabricate to harm one’s livelihood and reputation. This person also agreed that Travis Stolley is the establishment favorite for county sheriff.

It appears that Dave Schuman is impeding the will of local powerbrokers and has been tossed under the campaign bus as a result.

Scorching Pearl Apologist Mike Weland

Before getting into this topic, here’s a brief update on my previous post.

The Union Pacific Railroad gave a $5,000 grant to the Pearl Theater for copyright payments so the Pearl could show free movies; something they often do in the summer. The Pearl has decided to use some of this money to show movies at night as part of the rainbow mafia celebration. The Pearl organizers decided to remove the UP sponsorship from their posters to keep peace with the community and hopefully maintain future grant opportunities from UP.

What follows is one of my longest posts ever on the blog. Mike Weland deserves a long form response and gets it. It might have been better if he had refrained from comment, but Mike chose to open his mouth and remove all doubt.

Mike Weland is owner of 9B News and a board member of The Pearl Theater. This guy really hates all things Trump and most things conservative. A few days ago, he posted an article entitled, “A hateful and loathful response revisited.”  The post requires some imagination because in parts he is responding to comments made by others elsewhere—likely, on Facebook, that the reader cannot see. Whether his responses to such comments are in context or not, readers have no way of knowing. Lastly, I do thank him that this was placed on the Letters & Opinion page of his website and not presented as news.

In the wake of news last week of a three-day queer pride event this June, I was compelled by the comments to add an addendum to my Facebook notice, not to smooth ruffled feathers, but to elicit thought on the mostly one-sided view that prevailed.

The one-sided view was clearly folks were not happy with a rainbow event in our community. Mr. Weland is not ignorant that The Pearl would get such a reaction. They got what they wanted. Don’t let his feigned shock fool you.

“There is a vast difference between those of the LGBTQ persuasion, undoubtedly biological, and those who engage in sexual assault, coercion, pedophilia or other sex crimes, no matter their sexual orientation,” I wrote. “As with heterosexuals, the love lives of the former are no one else’s business and ought not be subject to hatred, ridicule or marginalization (remember how that thing with the witches turned out?) Save your hatred and loathing for those whose actions cause actual irreparable harm. You’ll seem far less ignorant and far less sanctimonious. And you’ll be right.”

OK, here we go. Mr. Weland is making false and misleading claims right out of the gate. He is claiming that homosexuality is biological but rape, pedophilia, and other sex crimes are somehow different. Folks, homosexuality is a sin but per Weland, it’s just not as bad as all them other ones; somehow we always get back to grading on the morality curve so we’re better than the other person. Sorry Mike, but you are cherry picking your words to try to deceive your readers.

There have been numerous news stories in recent years of homosexuals—mostly men—adopting young children for the purposes of sex and sex trafficking. NAMBLA (National Man Boy Love Association) is a recognized part of the homosexual community and has been around at least since the days of Jerry Falwell and the Moral Majority. If Mike really believes there is such a thing as a sex crime what is his definition? Next in the paragraph he invokes a sort of libertarian argument that consenting adults can do no wrong. One must assume that he now is defending not only homosexuality, but fornication, and prostitution. Then he tries to invoke the Salem witch trials as a defense. Talk about a strawman argument. Oh, now he comes back to grading on the morality curve again with irreparable harm as his standard. OK Mike who decides what “irreparable harm” is? The One that created us or those willing to justify their actions in the heat of passion (or lust)? Then the conclusion of this paragraph is that if we agree with him then we’ll be right. Oh, I’m so relieved about that.

The response was as expected and I’m certain this expression of my opinion, set down in writing, will be met with the same derision.

“Wow Mike … that is quite a hateful and loathful response there man,” one wrote. “Maybe next time you could follow your own sage advice. You’ll seem far less ignorant, and far less sanctimonious.”

He left out the key part of the phrase, though … that I am right.

Yep, Mike that’s the solution, man is the measure of all things. As long as we grade on the curve, Mike might be better than someone else.

I deleted some of the more barbed of the comments that I deemed went too far in their attack and, as usual, I was chastised for stifling opinion, for assaulting their sacred right to free speech.

I agree we are all entitled to our opinions and that we all have the right to express them. However, I give opinions used to belittle, hold down or oppress others far less weight than I give the opinion of the man with the knee on his neck begging to breathe, to stand up.

This next section is less polished and more raw than the previous part. I think Mike is letting things get personal in some way. He admits deleting some comments, but he doesn’t say where, I would guess Facebook. Also, he doesn’t say why. I can imagine things getting too personal or too near the mark to be comfortable. Maybe a bit of both. Mike then likens himself to the myth of George Floyd and thus tries to claim he is a martyr for the cause. Please note also the moral superiority of his opinion as compared to others that he gives “far less weight”.

Opinions aren’t sacred, aren’t everlasting and they aren’t always right. Nearly all our conscious actions are conceived from opinions, our thoughts, and only a fool would not be wary of derogatory or threatening opinions expressed, especially when that opinion expresses derision for who a person is, or is perceived to be, rather than what that person does or has done.

Mike continues the claim that he is right and all other men fools. However, you could use this same logic to box him in. There is a sense in which this paragraph is a backhanded way of attacking God and His followers. He and his ilk claim the Bible is just the opinions of man and God does not exist. Isn’t that essentially his first sentence? Try this. The Bible isn’t sacred, or everlasting, and isn’t always right. If your opinion is based on Scripture, you should be wary and not express derogatory or hurtful opinions. Neither you nor God can possibly know my heart.

“In regards to the transgender/homosexual movement, we believe it is morally wrong,” a gentleman wrote. “Our position is not all that different than people who think guns should be banned – they believe that is morally wrong.”

Mike then chooses to quote this as proof of something. Unless Mike believes in banning guns—a novel position for a person to hold while living in a state that fully embraces open carrying of firearm—the sentence doesn’t make sense. The author seems to be claiming his opinion on morality is just as valid as Mikes. My truth versus your truth? I guess Mike is then to assume his vote is cancelled by his neighbor, or at least reduced in importance to just one of many. All this presupposes that man is the measure of all things.

I am of the opinion that your opinion falls short on both counts, sir. A gun isn’t morally wrong, it is an object, a tool. One that can, with but a fleeting moment’s thought, be used to accomplish an irreparable action that could have been avoided had no gun been close at hand. It would be a foolish mommy who let toddler baby keep the shiny sharp knife she pulled off the counter because she cries when you try take it away. It’s not a matter of morals, it’s common sense.

This rebuttal is strange to my eyes and ears. Mike calls the gun a tool but given the rest of the paragraph, a tool that can only cause harm. Shouldn’t a proper analogy be that a gun can defend your home or person or used improperly to bring sorrow. Why does he say a gun results in “irreparable action that could have been avoided” (in many cases this is a false statement and denial of a right to self-defense which is a biblical value) and then flip to a child and a knife. This whole exchange is rather fruitless.

And to say certain forms of human sexuality are morally wrong is akin to saying being brown is morally wrong, having blue eyes is morally wrong, to be born with a grave illness is morally wrong, to have been born over there rather than here. To contend that people have a choice about their sexuality is to deny the evidence of your eyes.

Again, man is the measure of morality. Mike claims some people are just born that way so get over it. Under this logic, a pedophile has only to say he was born that way or with that attraction to those who have not yet reach puberty and then his behavior is ok? I’m sure many pedophiles make such claims. Mike says above he disagrees with pedophilia but on what basis? For him there is no external standard (God), thus Mike claims only he can decide right or wrong. But Mike goes further, he claims the right to decide what is right or wrong for the rest of us too. Mike said pedophilia was wrong, but the truth is he has no moral basis to condemn it. Clearly this situational morality is a slippery slope. Mike denies God and thus thinks he can escape the problem of sin.

Stealing is morally wrong. Lying is morally wrong, murder. Rape, exploiting the sexuality of others, pedophilia, using others by force or coercion to satisfy your own lust, pandering the vulnerable and profiting by their exploitation, those things are morally wrong.

Gee Mike. Without God there is no basis for you to say any of this is wrong. If Darwin was right, then all these things and more are available to the strong. In fact, it is your duty to exploit and extinguish the weak. As for “pandering the vulnerable and profiting by their exploitation” does that mean you opposed pornography being made available to school aged children at the Boundary County Library? I bet the record shows that you support such exploitation of children. Thou hypocrite.

“No matter what you say, there are two and only two sexes! Man and woman!”

Mike then launches into a tantrum when confronted with the truth that there are only two genders. Liberals always invoke Galileo to try to rebut religion because they think its either the Church or Science as if there is some contradiction. It’s a false argument. Science is thinking God’s thoughts after Him. True science is only understandable because our universe was created by a designer. It is when a person imposes Darwinian presuppositions that science is morphed into humanist religion dressed up in multisyllable words of self-importance.

Mike then says that animals reproduce after their kind, but some do so differently than we do. (Please note that such a claim is from the Bible, but don’t tell Mike.) Then he invokes a genetic mutation that causes some degree of hermaphrodites. This so rarely happens in humans that it proves nothing. Mike is trying to prove that homosexuality is ok because genetic mistakes make it so. He then claims there are really three sexes. No, Mike, there are really only two. Virtually all macro-genetic mutations are bad. He can’t prove that being a hermaphrodite is a good, desirable, or beneficial mutation. Also, can such a person even reproduce? This is the same logic used in the abortion debate, there are rare cases of rape, incest, and life of the mother, so abortion must be allowed for birth control based on a minuscule number of rare exceptions. The .001 percent is used to justify the killing of the other 99.99 percent.

After jumping to Alan Turing he then jumps to “science.” Hey, Mike we followed the great god science through the Covid 19 fiasco and “The Science” doesn’t have much credibility anymore. Science is about government funding not truth. These types of scientists, Mike says, don’t know what causes homosexuality. Maybe because it’s not chemical or biological in nature, it’s called sin. It’s a defect of our human race. Sin is a spiritual disease and sometimes it also results in mental disease as well.

Mike then starts his frontal attack on the Bible. At this point, he thinks he’s got the rest of us over a barrel. Funny because he’s the one wielding the kitchen knife thinking he’s so clever while cutting himself to shreds.

The boys who wrote the Bible around 2,000 years ago (about 4,000 years after the creation of the heavens and the Earth) had no idea of any of the science … but they had gay people. About 25 Bible verses make mention of homosexuality, men laying with men, and pretty much every one labels it a sin.

First let me remind you that Mike does not believe the Bible is the Word of God and he certainly doesn’t believe in a young earth. What follows is a combination of sarcasm, mockery, and disdain.

The Bible was written over the course of about 1,600 years and is comprised of 66 books. The Bible claims to be Truth. It claims to be the Word of God not men.

Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth. Psalm 31: 5

Thou art near, O LORD; and all thy commandments are truth. Psalm 119: 151

I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. I John 2: 21

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. John 17: 17

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:2 Timothy 3:16

For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. Pslams 100: 5

The Bible claims to be authoritative in any area or topic that it touches on, including science.

The Bible makes many truth claims.

God created the heavens and the earth.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Genesis 1: 1

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: Colossians 1: 16

Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created. Psalm 148: 5

God created you.

I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded. Isaiah 45: 12

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. Psalm 139: 14

God created and cares for the animals.

And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. Genesis 1: 21

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Matthew 6: 26

God causes earthquakes

And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. Matthew 28: 2

God gives rain

Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.  Joel 2: 23

God’s Word touches on many subjects

Mike’s problem is that if God is the cause, it can’t be science because for him science must be a naturalist, impersonal law, that needs no law giver.

The Bible speaks of the rain cycle of evaporation, condensation, and rain, the circle of the earth, eclipses, the lunar cycle, dinosaurs, and many other things. It is not a science textbook, but it mentions such things in passing as it deals with mankind. The Bible is a book about God’s interaction with his creation and especially his image bearers; namely, us humans. The Bible is history.

Mike is pushing the false division of science and religion in this paragraph. He then admits that the Bible calls homosexuality a sin. He says it only lists about 25 verses on the subject. Mike has no idea what the Bible says and doesn’t care, he just wants to be dismissive of the whole thing.

Rebuttal to Mike’s 25 Verse Challenge

The Ten Commandments are only given twice in the Bible, but we are expected to follow them. The number of times something is in the Bible is irrelevant, once is enough. Also, as the Reformers point out, each of the Ten Commandments not only forbids something but encourages its opposite. The Ten Commandments are very far reaching not narrow prohibitions. Ditto for verses on homosexuality. The Bible forbids the practice of homosexuality and commands us to do its opposite. What appears below is a partial list of verses that I found on the subject.

Going into this, I think 25 verses is a little light compared to the actual number of verses on the subject. Let’s see if we can find more.

My first thought is the account of Sodom which is way more than 25 verses. Note that the account actually begins in the previous chapter (Genesis 18) which I did not include. Genesis 19: 1 – 29

1 And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; 2 And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. 3 And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat. 4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: 5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. 6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, 7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. 8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. 9 And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door. 10 But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door. 11 And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door. 12 And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place: 13 For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it. 14 And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law. 15 And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city. 16 And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city. 17 And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed. 18 And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord: 19 Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die: 20 Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live. 21 And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken. 22 Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do any thing till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar. 23 The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar. 24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; 25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. 26 But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. 27 And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD: 28 And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace. 29 And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.

Oh, just in case Mike whines about it, Sodom has been found by archaeologists and it was destroyed by intense heat just a Moses said over 3,000 years ago. Sodom becomes a type of evil city that is reference periodically throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.

Here’s one example:

As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it. Jeremiah 49: 18.

Another passage dealing with homosexuality is the latter part of Romans chapter 1, verse 18 – 32.

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Oh, wow. I found this article on the Internet, “25 Bible verses about homosexuality.” Wonder if Mike got his number from this? It actually has a top ten followed by more verses. It’s missing some verses but it’s a start.

Some Bible Verses about Homosexuality

Genesis 2:24 – Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Leviticus 18: 22-24 “ ‘Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable. “ ‘Do not have sexual relations with an animal and defile yourself with it. A woman must not present herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it; that is a perversion. “ ‘Do not defile yourselves in any of these ways, because this is how the nations that I am going to drive out before you became defiled.

Leviticus 20:13 ~ If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

Deuteronomy 23:17 “None of the daughters of Israel shall be a cult prostitute, nor shall any of the sons of Israel be a cult prostitute.

Judges 19: 16 – 24 Then behold, an old man was coming out of the field from his work at evening. Now the man was from the hill country of Ephraim, and he was staying in Gibeah, but the men of the place were Benjamites. And he lifted up his eyes and saw the traveler in the open square of the city; and the old man said, “Where are you going, and where do you come from?” He said to him, “We are passing from Bethlehem in Judah to the remote part of the hill country of Ephraim, for I am from there, and I went to Bethlehem in Judah. But I am now going to my house, and no man will take me into his house. Yet there is both straw and fodder for our donkeys, and also bread and wine for me, your maidservant, and the young man who is with your servants; there is no lack of anything.” The old man said, “Peace to you. Only let me take care of all your needs; however, do not spend the night in the open square.” So he took him into his house and gave the donkeys fodder, and they washed their feet and ate and drank. While they were celebrating, behold, the men of the city, certain worthless fellows, surrounded the house, pounding the door; and they spoke to the owner of the house, the old man, saying, “Bring out the man who came into your house that we may have relations with him.” Then the man, the owner of the house, went out to them and said to them, “No, my fellows, please do not act so wickedly; since this man has come into my house, do not commit this act of folly. Here is my virgin daughter and his concubine. Please let me bring them out that you may ravish them and do to them whatever you wish. But do not commit such an act of folly against this man.”

1 Kings 14:24 There were also male cult prostitutes in the land. They did according to all the abominations of the nations which the Lord dispossessed before the sons of Israel.

1 Kings 15: 12 He expelled the male shrine prostitutes from the land and got rid of all the idols his ancestors had made.

2 Kings 23:7 He also broke down the houses of the male cult prostitutes which were in the house of the Lord, where the women were weaving hangings for the Asherah.

Ezekiel 16:49-50 ” ‘Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen.

Mark 10: 6-9 “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

John 8: 7-11 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

Romans 1:26-28 ~ For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.

Romans 13: 8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

1 Corinthians 6: 9-11 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

1 Corinthians 6: 17-20 But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit. Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

1 Corinthians 7:2 – But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.

2 Corinthians 5:17 – Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

1 Timothy 1:8-11 ESV – Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted.

Hebrews 13: 1-5 Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering. Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

Jude 1: 5-8 Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe. And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day. In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire. In the very same way, on the strength of their dreams these ungodly people pollute their own bodies, reject authority and heap abuse on celestial beings.

Revelation 21:8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars-they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

But no mention in old testament or new of lesbians, women who lie with women, which seems odd. They had those back then, too.

Some think Ruth and Naomi, two Biblical heroines, might have been lesbians, but no mention of abomination as to their supposed deviancy. In fact, they are said to have been favored of God.

I wonder why that is? I forgot, can you tell me again what gender were the men who allegedly wrote the Bible, inspired by God?

Mike clearly is ignorant of what the Bible actually says, and he really doesn’t care anyway. Romans 1: 26 comes to mind as some low hanging fruit to hit Mike with:

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

There is zero evidence that either Ruth or Naomi were lesbians. This is history revisionism of the worst sort. Random dead people are plucked from history and declared by the woke among us as somebody that was homosexual or whatever. A recent movie comes to mind where Cleopatra was portrayed as black when she was most certainly not. Ditto for Alexander the Great. A recent movie on Netflix claimed Alexander was a homosexual. Zero evidence exists but it didn’t stop the portrayal.

I told you he used sarcasm. “… can you tell me the gender of the men …”? I also stated previously that he doesn’t believe in the authority of the Scriptures. Mikes thinks he is a cat playing with helpless mice.

Our nation’s Declaration of Independence proclaims that all men (and women) are created equal. It does not tell you that you have to like those different than you, hang out, go to the same clubs or mingle at the office party. We can all take pride in who we are, our heritage, our ancestry, but no one has the right to deem they or theirs superior, more entitled, a little more equal.

Then after trashing the Bible, Weland invokes a document written by men steeped in its understanding, the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration is essentially a Covenant Lawsuit brought against the King of England for failing to do his job. Mike can’t get that because he doesn’t know the Bible or its influence on our culture. Of course, like invoking the Bible above, the Declaration has nothing to do with the rest of the paragraph. Mike is playing his version of the Rodney King, “can’t we all get along” quote. Pride is a sin and the root cause of all our ills, but it is considered a virtue in the rainbow cult.

If there is no God, then we are left only with Darwin or some other false belief system. Mike has to steal morality from Christianity to make the following claim. “We can all take pride in who we are, our heritage, our ancestry, but no one has the right to deem they or theirs superior, more entitled, a little more equal.”

Mike, you have zero basis in morality to claim that we should be equal. That belief comes from the Bible which is how it got in the Declaration. You reject the Bible and thus must reject the fruits of Christianity including the Declaration of Independence. Given your stated worldview, you deny equality as understood in the West.

In fact, under Darwin, it follows that some are superior to others. The mighty must exploit the weak. This is the law of the jungle. They are superior. This is the basis of eugenics which you support. Oh, yes you do. What in the hell is Planned Parenthood all about. Its founder said that her goal was to eliminate poverty by eliminating the poor. Same goal as the Nazis. Mrs. Sanger was a big supporter of the Third Reich. The Final Solution is no different than what Planned Parenthood does in our country, the only difference is the marketing of the belief.

Christianity is superior not because its followers are superior but because it has the same set of rules for our friends and our enemies. Our equality is not based on our superiority but our acknowledgement that we are all broken. Only God is righteous, and His external, objective standard, is Truth. The church is not the clubhouse of the righteous but the hospital for the sinner. This is something you fail to grasp because you say you have no need of The Great Physician.

If you wouldn’t like being treated as you or yours treat others over traits they were born with; hair color, skin color, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, quit treating them so. If they rise up and demand equal rights, realize they aren’t trying to take rights from you … they aren’t flaunting their difference or trying to corrupt you, they’re asking you to get your knee off their neck, for equal rights under the law, equal opportunity to avail themselves of their talents, equal ability to pursue their dreams, to be useful, to be happy.

Here finally, Mike is getting to “the ask” of his piece. Again, please note that he is trying to appeal, on the basis of a Christian understanding of equality, that homosexuals should be welcome into the mainstream of society.

First, Mike, we all are born slaves to sin. Second, sin corrupts the way we are. It corrupts our relationship with God, His creation, our fellow man, and even ourselves. God has a way He intends us to live. We fall short of His Standard. He sent His Son Jesus to pay the price that we couldn’t and if we will die to ourselves and yield to His Lordship then we can take up His cross and follow Him. God will take us from a state of spiritual death and give us life. God exchanges our heart of stone for one of flesh. This is the new birth.

Please note however that if we reject God that the wrath of God abides on us now, not just in the next life. If you reject Christ, you are under his judgement now.

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3: 36

As shown above, and also acknowledged by you, per the Bible, homosexuality is a sin. It is not allowed in society because it is wrong behavior. If you dig into the Greek language of the Bible, homosexuality is grounds for sending someone to hell. They cannot enter the Kingdom of God. It is a serious and grievous sin. Thus, when someone that believes the Bible is confronted with it, we know what we are dealing with, a societal cancer that must not be allowed to spread. As a result, we want to warn you of the consequences if you don’t repent. Under the Old Testament, the punishment for homosexuality is physical death. Under the New Testament, the punishment is spiritual death.

Homosexuals don’t want equality in our society, they want superiority and yes, they have harmed our country. Take marriage for example. First domestic partnerships were allowed. Then homosexuals demanded “marriage.” Marriage was then defined by some as some sort of a societal contract. (I will leave out the contribution of no-fault divorce in the mid-20th Century.) Marriage wasn’t created by government but by God. What many call “marriage” is an abomination and a direct attack on God and His people. Marriage is supposed to be a picture of God’s relationship with His people. What we do on earth is a foreshadowing of the real marriage in Heaven. Marriage is between a man and woman. Whatever same sex couples do is not marriage, its just a mockery of the real thing. For us to get the knee off your neck is to forsake God. Like compromise on abortion, there can be none.

Also, homosexuals don’t reproduce, they recruit which is really what the event at the Pearl is really about. They undermine our values as a church, as a people, and as nation. This dog and pony show at the Pearl scheduled for June is an attempt to normalize sin and as such must be opposed. It is evil. Period.

There is nothing wrong with disliking or even hating what gays might be doing, to consider it wrong or immoral.  You have that right … don’t do those things. You have the absolute right to pray to and  seek guidance from your God and, as long as it’s legal, the right to do as your God commands. You even have the right, if I’m willing to listen (I’m not) to preach, proselytize, prophesize, perform miracles, remove cancers, play with deadly vipers, speak in tongues and do your best to “save” me, just as I have the right to tell you I’m not interested.

Actually Mike, we don’t have a right to disagree with homosexuality, at least not in the state where I used to live. You are faking neutrality only long enough to get the upper hand and then the laws will be changed. The strategy is capture to castle and then pull up the draw bridge. The trick is to do it before the peasants know what hit ‘em.

The activity at the Pearl is not the endgame just the opening salvo in a greater war. Many of us are veterans in this conflict and see through your lies. You make an interesting admission against interest in the above paragraph. “… as long as it’s legal …” A change in law is a change in morality and also a change in which god’s law will prevail. I’ve lived long enough to see the law changed so that it’s not legal to be a Christian in other parts of our country. On this side of Covid we won’t allow that to happen again, especially not in Idaho.

We are all entitled to our thoughts, our opinions, and we all have the same rights to express them. If those thoughts lead some to take actions that break our nation’s laws, let them be prosecuted as individuals for their deeds. If those thoughts and opinions lead others to high achievement, accomplishment or great esteem, let each be rewarded as individuals … for their deeds.

Mike, you just proved my previous point. Your goal is to change the law so you can cram homosexuality down our throats until we choke on it. You are daring your opponents to act and hope the law will be on your side to take them out. Sorry dude but north Idaho is not fertile ground for your efforts.

Mike, if you really want us to start boycotting businesses run by your rainbow allies, we are more than willing to do so. Thus far I have not let ideology be a determining factor in which businesses that I frequent in Boundary County, but I’ve been making mental notes about which ones are run by folks on your side of this issue.

Mike then closes with a bunch of random quotes from people he doesn’t honor or respect that are variations of love your neighbor. Same tired BS they put on Facebook but don’t believe.

Mike, loving your neighbor, is knocking on their door at one AM to tell them their house is on fire, and they should get out. Your response is that it’s late and you want to go back to bed. Sorry but we are insistent that you are in deep doo doo and should repent before you get incinerated.

So, there you have it, Mike Weland bleeding all over himself because he can’t handle God’s sword without God’s Spirit being in him. Oh, his complete post can be found here.

The Pearl Parades Perverts

Over the next two months, I will be writing more on this issue. For now, consider this an introduction.

Introduction

The Pearl Theater in Bonners Ferry is an old building. In fact, it’s an old church building complete with a steeple and a cross on top. Per some recent posts on Facebook, Christian worship ended there a few decades ago.

The Pearl Theater

It has been repurposed as a hub of “The Arts.” In reality, it’s the clubhouse for the homosexual community. The board of the Pearl includes a known satanist and the liberal purveyor of the website 9B.news.

(Note that 9B is the ninth county name starting with the letter “B” in Idaho. Unless you get a custom car licenses plate, the first two digits on the license plate are usually your county designation based on alphabetical order. Thus, 9B is Boundary County and neighboring Bonner County is 7B.)

A few days ago, the Pearl announced that they were going to hold a gay pride rally in mid-June.

Link to Pearl ad for event.

In the midst of this they claimed that the event was funded by grants from the State of Idaho and The Union Pacific Railroad. I can’t show you the original posters for the event because they have all been edited to remove the sponsors that were once listed on them.

This is because our local state senator immediately got involved and as a result, The Pearl printed a retraction of State sponsorship.

The Pearl Theater would like to apologize for mistakenly attributing sponsorship of the upcoming Pride event to several agencies that have generously provided grants to The Pearl Theater. It was an honest mistake and a result of misunderstanding the grant requirements regarding how to properly attribute the funding …

Facebook retraction

As soon as we became aware of the mistake, we quickly corrected it and confirmed with the grant agency that the funds could still be used for the projects as planned.

Yeah right. Senator Herndon set you straight and in short order.

Union Pacific’s name also dropped off the list, but I haven’t seen anyone saying why.

Relevant Recent History

North Idaho, as it’s called locally, is one of the fastest-growing regions of the country. It’s also one of the whitest and home to far-right political movements, some that encourage Christians to flee cities for rural areas like this that are pro-gun and libertarian on issues such as home schooling and vaccines.Demographers say the region is experiencing its third wave of mostly white, conservative transplants moving from California: a trend that particularly gained notoriety in the 1990s, when Southern California police officers retired there after the 1991 Rodney King scandal, when Los Angeles officers were videotaped beating a Black man. Today, it’s not uncommon to hear commercial radio stations running ads for abortion therapy groups. Trump 2020 flags flying in yards next to yellow “Don’t Tread on Me” banners are also a mainstay.

Are Paramilitary Extremists Being Normalized? Look To Idaho For Answers

The Rainbow Mafia has set its sights on the town where I live. Unlike the domain of King Newsom, the community is pushing back. Whatever the turnout for the event, the counter protest will be much bigger.

Just to explain how different things are here in Idaho, let’s go back a few years to BLM supporters protesting in Idaho.

When Black Lives Matter protests broke out across the country after the police killing of George Floyd this summer, Schroeder watched as small groups of high school and college-aged protesters in Coeur d’Alene were met with as many as 400 civilians, mostly white men, purporting to be their “protectors.”

Brandishing assault rifles, the men proclaimed they were there to safeguard local businesses and protesters from a rumored antifa incursion. While the mayor and City Council described their armed presence as potentially “reassuring,” some protesters said the true goal was intimidation.

‘No Body of Men:’ A militia movement, recast, takes to the streets of North Idaho

Yep, at BLM protests in Idaho, the guys that showed up to protect businesses far outnumbered the protesters. Oh, and open carrying of firearms is legal so all these guys were armed to the teeth. As a result, the BLM protests died out quickly and no businesses were harmed by otherwise undeterred criminals.

Here’s another story from 2020.

Monday was the first night that people carrying rifles and wearing tactical gear began appearing on the streets of Sherman Avenue, an apparent response to debunked rumors that out-of-town agitators were plotting property damage in the city by the lake. Instead, protests in Coeur d’Alene have remained largely peaceful, and those who have taken to the streets have expressed solidarity with those armed.

That’s not the case 50 miles to the north in Sandpoint, according to Mayor Shelby Rognstad.

“None of the young protesters I spoke with felt any safer in the presence of these armed vigilantes,” Rognstad wrote in a lengthy Facebook post Wednesday evening. “Rather, they felt scared, intimidated and in some cases harassed. None of the downtown business owners I have since spoken to felt any safer from the militant presence.”

Armed presence in North Idaho towns questioned by some politicians, business owners

Coincidentally, these protests and counter-protests happened at the time my wife and I were making our initial scouting trip of Idaho in June 2020 as part of our plan to leave California. Hearing that the number of people providing an armed response was greater than the BLM protesters is one reason that we chose to move to Idaho.

I fully expect a similar type of overwhelming pushback for the event at the Pearl. I know that plans are underway to execute a response and that these efforts will be replicated in various parts of the community.

Back to the Current Situation

Meanwhile, the Rainbow Mafia is running a campaign on Facebook to try and normalize homosexual behavior. As one would expect, this is thinly veiled attack on Christians and others that believe in God. After denouncing that God exists or the Bible is His Word, they then try to quote verses about loving your neighbor. They use these tactics to try to cow people into backing down. Sadly, this works on many people that think God is Love but don’t know what that means.

Eventually, it always comes down to man being the measure of all things, which logically denies that His revealed Word is the final authority. They want sin normalized or at least graded on the curve—as they define it—so they can measure up.

The syllogism would be something like this:

God is Love, Ellen loves Eve, therefore, Ellen’s love is what God commanded. Thus, Elen’s sin is virtuous.

To which I would add, if sin is virtuous, then why did Jesus have to die?

The error in the logic is great, but then this is an emotional argument intended to justify and rationalize, not one intended to bear-up under questioning. They deny God exists—although the Bible says they are liars because they know he does. They just use the mention of God as cover for the strawman they substitute for him in their major premise. They are self-deceived and dead in their trespasses and sin.

When I next write on the subject, I plan to look at some posts put up in support of the event and the lifestyle it embraces.

Heresy in My Email Box

Last fall, I bought a live album recorded in the 1980’s off the artist’s [Mylon LeFevre] website. Seems he followed his parent’s footsteps and ended up in the ministry. As it turns out, this guy had died about three weeks before I placed my order. Anyway, I ended up on the ministry’s email list. This was my first direct exposure to the Pentecostal end of Christendom in many years.

The artist’s wife is carrying on the ministry and she is palling around with Kenneth Copeland.

Tomorrow, April 5th would have been Mylon’s and my 26th wedding anniversary. It was the day Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, along with my Pastors, George and Terri Pearsons, set me apart and ordained me into full time ministry.

Copeland is a guy I haven’t crossed path with since my second year of college. I had a roommate that played Copeland’s radio show in the dorm room. I’m sure he’s the radio preacher that I heard claim that if you were in prison and gave your life to Christ that not only would God forgive you of your sin, but you would be forgiven in the eyes of man and be released from prison. Apparently, when Jesus makes you free, he really makes you free.

A few days ago, I received a new email update that just blew my mind. I will quote the relevant part below and then we can talk further. I tried to find a URL with the same content but was unable to locate a copy in cyberspace. As a result, I will quote extensively to show that I am responding in context.

God recently instructed me to make a petition for the future of this ministry. We’ve started a new chapter and turned the page. God is writing my story and He’s writing yours too. As we trust Him, it will be a beautiful story. But in order to move forward, we must focus on what we know, NOT on what we don’t know. The Word is always our safe place. God is not a man that He can lie. His Word will never return void. Job 22:28-29 AMPC says we “DECIDE and DECREE a thing, and it shall be established for (us;) and the light [of God’s FAVOR] shall shine upon (our) ways.” Did you get that? We decide, not God. The verse continues to explain when situations arise that tempt us to be discouraged, we SAY, “There is a lifting UP!” So, I declare we’re going UP in this ministry!

Emphasis in the original.

First the biblical passage Job 22: 28 – 29 (KJV)

Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways. When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.

Who was speaking, to whom, and what was the context?

The book of Job is about a man sorely tested by Satan—with God’s permission—and then three friends of Job try to comfort him by being critical of Job and trying to prove to him that he deserved the punishment.

This chapter of dialogue is spoken by Eliphaz. Eliphaz believed that riches and material blessings were proof of a person following God and being upright. This is a popular myth that many still believe is true to this day. This myth was very evident in the time of Jesus and is seen throughout the Gospels. The belief is that the rich are so because they obey God and are blessed; likewise, the poor are poor for disobedience. Scripture makes it clear that this might be the case but not always. The rich might very well be rich by stealing and being greedy or criminals or obtaining their wealth in immoral ways. A quick read of Psalms or Proverbs makes this abundantly clear. For example, Psalm 73: 12 “Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.” Clearly prosperity does not equal godliness.

In 1710, Matthew Heny stated this on the passage in Job.

The answer of Eliphaz wrongly implied that Job had hitherto not known God, and that prosperity in this life would follow his sincere conversion. The counsel Eliphaz here gives is good, though, as to Job, it was built upon a false supposition that he was a stranger and enemy to God.

Job Chapter 22 Commentary

OK, so the passage in Job is not spoken by Job or God. The book makes it plain that Job was righteous and did nothing to deserve punishment. Thus, the only righteous characters in Job are Job and God. Every other character in the book is wrong in one way or another. Anyone that understands the book knows that all advice given to Job by his friends was in error. Thus, when you see this passage being brought forth as the way to conduct your life, beware. A yellow or red flag should be waving in your mind.

Let’s go through the paragraph one step at a time.

“God recently instructed me…” Like in an audible voice or via friends or His Word? I grant that God talks more than we listen but …

“We’ve started a new chapter and turned the page.” OK, your husband died, and your life continues.

“God is writing my story and … yours”. We trust Him. We are faithful to Him.

“But…”

Now comes the set-up. There is a sense in which this can be an orthodox Christian thing but not necessarily. She is in essence saying we walk by the light God has given us and we don’t know everything; like maybe the future, but we trust Him.

“The Word is always a safe place.” Really? The Word is a sword. Or if you prefer, “And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.” Matthew 21: 44. The Word shows us our need and God’s remedy. I wouldn’t describe that as “safe.” The use of “safe” here harkens back to Narnia where the question was asked as the whether Aslan was tame.

Then she quotes part of Numbers 23: 19

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

And then Isaiah 55: 11

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

This verse is often understood as God’s Word going forth to either bring men to salvation or hardening their hearts for judgement.

“The special “word” which the prophet has here in mind is the promise, so frequently given, of deliverance from Babylon and return in peace and joy to Palestine. But he carries his teaching beyond the immediate occasion, for the benefit of the people of God in all ages.

Pulpit Commentary

Finally, we arrive at the central thesis of the entire email; namely, the verses from Job which I previously quoted.

Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

Job … says we “DECIDE and DECREE a thing, and it shall be established for (us;) and the light [of God’s FAVOR] shall shine upon (our) ways.” Did you get that? We decide, not God.

Red flag alert.

“We decide, not God.”

Folks, this email is claiming that we can tell God to do something, and He MUST do it? Wow. This is a bold and arrogant statement.

The Pulpit Commentary notes that this verse has “a touch of audacity.” No kidding.

Gill’s Exposition states, “Strictly speaking, this is only true of God, whose decrees are unfrustrable, whose counsel shall stand, and the thoughts of his heart be established to all generations; and frequently so it is, according to an usual saying, man appoints, but God disappoints …”

Gill’s Exposition

Is this what Matthew 21: 22 means? “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”

Clearly this author would say “yes” with no caveats or restrictions. Name it and claim it. God must do what we decide. Doesn’t that make us God or at least make God, not be God?

Here again there is the implied condition (as in Matthew 7:7) that what is asked is in harmony with the laws and will of God. If it were not so it would not be asked in faith, and every true prayer involves the submission of what it asks to the divine judgment.

Ellicott’s

Munster’s Hebrew Gospel reads it, “in prayer, and in faith”; and the Arabic version renders it, “in prayer with faith”; both to the same purpose, and aptly express the sense of the words, which design the prayer of faith; or that prayer which is put up in the strength of faith; and is of great avail with God: for whatever is asked in faith, agreeable to the will of God, which is contained in his covenant, word, and promises, and makes for his glory, and the good of his people, shall be given …

Gill’s Exposition

Does God really give us a blank check to give us anything we like? Is He really the giant ATM or Santa Claus in the sky? Must God do what we tell Him?

NOPE

God makes it clear that His ways are not our ways.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. — Isaiah 55:8

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. — Isaiah 55: 9

Jesus said if we ask anything of the Father that we shall receive.

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. — Matthew 21: 22

However, it must be in accordance with His will.

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. — I John 5: 14 – 15

James, the brother of Jesus, said it this way:

“Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” — James 4: 3

If you look a little further at the Scriptures, you will see that Eliphaz was wrong. We don’t tell God what to do. He is the Great King. We are to come before him in the name of Jesus and make our request according to his will. Sometimes God will grant our petitions to him, but he is under no obligation to do so. God will do what is best for us and quite often it is the hard way and not the easy one.

“Naming and claiming” or commanding God to do something just because we want it, is the clay spitting in the potter’s face. It’s more than a spiritual tantrum, its open rebellion against God. You can ask God for a million dollars or a new house or a cure for your cancer, but He is under no obligation to give it to you. The Scriptures are clear that we are to depend on Him. If anything, the trails of this life show us just how shallow and superficial such “stuff” is.

In a heartbeat, I’d trade everything I have, just to have my son back. I’d gladly give up my material possessions and my very life to see my son returned, but the truth is I have no control over such things. My wife and I pray daily and weep often that he is lost. His loss is a daily burden on both of us.

God doesn’t promise us a life of easy and prosperity; instead, he asks us to take up our cross and follow him. None of us is promised tomorrow. We certainly don’t have the right to expect anything from God, but he gives us generously as he sees fit.

Lastly, you will find that a form of judgement from God is giving us what we want.

His judgment, at least on this side of eternity, is to give sinners exactly what they want in preparation for the final day of judgment. And this is manifestly just, for sinners not only sin, but they take the extra step of justifying their sin and the sin of others. They approve of sin—calling evil good and good evil—and they encourage others to do so as well [Romans 1] (v. 32).

The Sins of the Gentiles

Prosperity, as the world defines it, is often just a way for God to turn up the heat on folks when judgement day rolls around. Anyone claiming that God must do anything we tell him to do is preaching “another gospel” and not the one delivered once and for all to the saints.

Boundary County Sheriff’s Race Update April 5, 2024

This will be brief update.

The biggest news of the past few days is the Dave Schuman has retired as a deputy sheriff. This has been directly linked to the state investigation which was being conducted into some aspect of his official conduct. I have not heard that he has suspended his campaign or dropped out of the race. Dave’s retirement has been gleefully reported several times on local Facebook pages.

Dave Schuman

Concurrent with Dave’s retirement, Travis Stolley has released a happy family man ad. OK, technically, it’s an endorsement letter on Stolley’s behalf authored by a friend.

Jon VanGesen is conducting many “meet and greet” events in various parts of the county. It has been Jon’s practice during the campaign to release a weekly calendar of events showing his availability and opportunities to interact with the public.

Most recent calendar from VanGesen

My last comment is that unlike my former state of residence, there does not seem to be any government generated paperwork related to the election process. No sample ballots, no info on polling places, no arguments on ballot propositions, etc. I’ll keep you updated if I hear more on this aspect of elections. I was warned by a friend in Nampa (north of Boise) that there is a lack of voter information prior to elections.

Idaho Senate District 1

Image a world where Rand Paul is running against Mitt Romney. Paul defeated Romney in the last election and Romney is out for blood in the rematch. Sorry, but for folks that live out of Idaho, that’s about the closest comparison that I can come up with to describe the State Senate race here.

The Rand Paul-like character in the race is Scott Herndon. Herndon is a real conservative. He is everything Tom McClintock is not. Herndon’s deeds match his words, and he is a leader; two things McClintock has never been. Herndon will vote against any bill if there is pork or hidden spending increases in it. Unlike Congress, he will only vote to approve money when he agrees where all of it will be spent. If a bill has extra stuff in it, Herndon will not support it. Oh, and unlike other folks in office, Herndon reads every bill and can tell you what he likes or doesn’t in each one.

Scott Herndon

In Idaho, the Legislature is a part-time one, and the legislative session is about 90-days. Things move at a very fast pace. A bill might be introduced on Monday and be heard in committee on Wednesday. It’s a furious pace in a short time. Anything being fast tracked is probably in need of additional scrutiny. I liken it to juggling chainsaws.

Jim Woodward

The Mitt Romney type character up here is Jim Woodward. Jim is a RINO. He thinks Idaho’s abortion restrictions are a problem and seems to want abortion as a form of birth control like it was under Roe v Wade. He voted to support DEI (Diversity, Inclusion, Equity) in academia and business. He pretends to want limited government and lower taxes, but the thrust of his campaign is hitting Herndon both for not spending enough money and Herndon’s reluctance to expand the scope and reach of government.

Were he in California, Woodward would be a proud moderate but in Idaho, he is a chameleon masquerading as a conservative. In a meeting of conservatives, you can sense that Woodward is choking on his own bile just being in the same room as them. But it’s what he must endure to win.

Woodward is supported by a coalition of Democrats, liberal Republicans, and others. One thing they have in common is that they really hate Christians. They have a website that attacks Herndon mercilessly for his faith and values. Started in 2022, this site is North Idaho Republicans.

A week ago, their poorly maintained website had several pages with text that was gibberish (plug text intended to be replaced by actual content). Thankfully, they at least finally took them down. Their Facebook page is their real portal and has more current content.

Here’s some gems from their website.

Conservatives want Dystopian Future

A March 5th post begins with praise for California’s Child Protective Services. Yes, really! Remember, this is a website claiming to be a group of conservative Republicans and they start out praising California (mistake number one) for a government system that is broken (mistake number two).

On the whole, the post seems to lack continuity and substance. In fact, the author has to invent facts out of thin air. Her (I can tell whoever wrote this is female and liberal by the content) entire article is speculation and thus wholly untrue. It is an attack on Herndon and Christians and what harm she thinks they might do in the future. It’s really a classic strawman argument used as a vehicle to trash conservatives. Here are a few parts:

… their Christian Nationalist agenda and make good on their promises to abolish anything they view as an affront to domininist ideologies.

Herndon and his Abolish Abortion arsonist allies …

…  a combination of fear porn and forcing some bizarre pseudo-christian version of Sharia Law down people’s throats.

… the laws of the new Christian state …

The full rant can be found here.

Only Republicans can vote in Republican Primaries

Another thing the North Idaho group dislikes is the Republican effort in the state to say that you must be registered as a Republican for one year before voting in a Republican election. This allegedly conservative group wants Democrats to be able to change registration to select who wins on the Republican ticket. If you oppose any version of “Operation Chaos” or any other means of non-republican involvement in Republican Primary elections, then in their eyes, you are evil.

Yep, just like other groups I can think of, Woodward and his ilk invoke Ronald Reagan as their role model but somehow not Reagan’s beliefs. They only invoke Reagan to claim that others in the GOP must work for what they want. Bipartisanship is always a one-way street. Funny how that happens.

These guys have open hostility to Christianity. Christians started the Republican Party to oppose slavery.

If the North Idaho Republican group wants people in elected office, that claim to be Christian but don’t let it affect their politics, then they should be voting for Joe Biden or Nancy Pelosi. Heck, they’re in the wrong political party. No wonder they’re so uncomfortable as Republicans.

Fake Racism Incident

Note: below I have underlined a few places in quotations for emphasis.

A few weeks ago, the North Idaho Republicans also opened their pie-holes about racism in Coeur d’Alene, but the truth is that the incident—in which they blamed people that they lump in with Scott Herndon—never happened. Zero evidence.

Now, almost two weeks since the incident occurred, there remains no evidence to support these claims.

Anatomy Of A Hate Hoax: One Week And Still NO EVIDENCE of Alleged “Racist Incident” in Coeur d’Alene With Utah Basketball Team

However, this didn’t stop the false narrative from making national news.

According to Stewart’s Task-Force [Tony Stewart of the Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations], the University of Utah Women’s Basketball team “encountered a truck displaying a Confederate flag as the driver began spewing appalling racial slurs at them, including the “N” word.”

According to the Kootenai Co human rights task force, the players were going to dinner when they were followed by a driver yelling the N word at them.

The truck that allegedly accosted the players while they were on their way to a restaurant supposedly waited around for TWO HOURS for the team to eat dinner, and then harassed the team again on their way back to the Coeur d’Alene resort. The team was only staying in Coeur d’Alene because the NCAA “dropped the ball” and forgot to reserve the team a hotel 45 minutes away in Spokane.

The allegations of this “Racist Incident” were first made public by Utah Women’s Basketball Coach Lynn Roberts, shortly after her team lost a game against Gonzaga at the NCAA March Madness Tournament.

Please note this steaming pile disguised as a press release.

Recent events in downtown Coeur d’Alene, involving the totally unacceptable verbal harassment of female athletes from the University of Utah and the University of California-Irvine, underscore the importance of the need to commit to uphold moral values and true freedom.

NIR firmly disavows these flashbacks of 1920’s Klan-like and 1990’s Aryan Nations-like activities, underscoring that genuine freedom cannot coexist with bigotry, harassment, and intimidation. Unfortunately, once again the destructive influence of some within the local Republican community is having truly negative effects on our community.

Press Release: North Idaho Republicans Denounces Racism and Bigotry

Please note in the above that this republican group is saying that they know for a fact that a fellow Republican, who simply must be from the camp they oppose, is responsible for this incident—although, it never happened. Also, if you don’t agree with them then you must be a Nazi.

Not done making asses of themselves, the author of the release then inserts a quote from himself.

Former Idaho Lt. Governor Jack Riggs voiced his concern, stating, “The empowerment of racism within our ranks threatens the very essence of our community and the integrity of the Republican Party.

Again, the guy with the rebel flag must be a Republican, but not one of ours.

Seems like this might be the classic strawman argument in action.

Oh, the gift that keeps give, this Riggs guy is a real nutjob:

“As Republicans, we must do more than merely point to ‘platform statements’ on racism; we must act decisively to root it out where it exists within our organization,” Riggs added. “This means holding our party leaders accountable and ensuring that their actions reflect the values we profess to hold.  There is simply no place for racism anywhere.”

In this paragraph, he now blames the Republican leadership of Idaho Republicans for the incident. This tells you that he’s not part of said leadership, but he deserves to be our master.

I will have more on the website of the North Idaho Republicans shortly.

Woodward and Abortion

These North Idaho whiners aren’t really Republicans. They don’t like abortion restrictions and think we need more DEI, transgender books for elementary school kids, and rainbow stuff.

Their boy, Jim Woodward got a plug of sorts from the UK Guardian newspaper. Apparently, he regrets his previous stand as a prolife Republican and wishes to moderate his positions. The following was written by a freelance writer in Montana, about the uphill struggle to undo the prolife laws in Idaho and once again make abortion lethal through all nine months of pregnancy. Towards the end of this advocacy piece, you will find these paragraphs:

Then another guest arrives: Jim Woodward, a Sandpoint Republican who served in the Idaho state senate from 2019-2022. He voted yes on all anti-abortion bills, but lost his seat in the 2022 election to Scott Herndon, a far-right abortion abolitionist who believes abortion should be treated as homicide and punished with jail time or even the death penalty. In the 2023 session, Herndon tried to remove Idaho’s rape and incest exception and called rape “an opportunity to have the child … if the rape actually occurred”. (Herndon declined to be interviewed for this story.)

Woodward is running to retake the seat this year. He says he and many other anti-abortion legislators didn’t foresee the ramifications of the bills they voted for. Part of his platform, which promises to reclaim his community from extremism, is to somewhat ease legislative language that doesn’t take the mother’s future health into account and calls for felony convictions for physicians. He didn’t hesitate to accept [Jen Jackson] Quintano’s invitation to the viewing party. “We should be able to talk about all of these things, and do it in a nice way,” he says. Two days later, he shares stories from the Nightline episode with attendees at a campaign meet and greet.

‘Idaho’s seen as a war zone’: the lone abortion activist defying militias and the far right

For those of you that don’t pay attention to legal issues, taking the mother’s health into consideration, as Woodward states above, is how we got almost 50 years of abortion being legal for all nine months of the pregnancy and the main form of birth control in the United States. Clearly Woodward wants to go back to Roe v Wade (and Doe v Bolton) as the law of the land.

Please note that Woodward was willing to vote prolife as long as he knew that only the Supreme Court had the power to overturn Roe. He was defeated by Herndon just a month before Roe was struck down. Now that voting prolife has real world implications, he wants to relax the restrictions that he once voted for. Conclusion, he only voted that way because he was expected to do so to get elected. It was never how he truly felt about the evil of abortion.

Black Lists and Black-balling

As I was poking around the North Idaho Republican website, I clicked on a curious button (Visit NIRPAC.ORG) and was transported to the alt world of their banned and blacklisted enemies list.

On one part of their main website, they quote Ronald Reagan saying he could work with someone that agrees with him 80 percent of the time. I guess if you really believe and agree with Reagan on abortion then the offer to work with you doesn’t apply. Oh, for those that don’t know, while in office, Reagan wrote a book condemning abortion. He is the only US President to write a book on the subject and did so while in office.

On the web page that you jump to for NIR PAC, you will see a button with the curious name of Non-Republican Sites.

There is this curious sentence followed by a list of blacklisted groups and websites.

But North Idaho Republicans ALSO chooses to NOT be associated with the following Non-Republican Network sites.

The list is composed of conservative groups composed mostly of Republicans. Some of the URLs in their list are broken.

Here are the names:

Citizens Alliance of Idaho

About: Citizens Alliance of Idaho was started by a group of Idaho citizens who wanted to see some type of positive change in Idaho politics. In wanting to be a voice of reason in a hyperpolarized environment, the best natural starting point was to focus on the only two documents that every Idahoan has agreed to live by: The Idaho State Constitution and the U.S. Constitution. These are the only two documents that provide the rules for how legislators agree to govern along with the expectations of the citizens they represent. We couldn’t think of a more fair and civic-minded roadmap.

Summation

So, there you have it, all the people that North Idaho Republicans refuses to work with. If you believe in following the Constitution, want accountable government, property rights, religious or health freedom, following the Christian faith, or opposing Marxism, you’re not welcome. Funny but last I checked, Ronald Reagan believed and supported all these things too.

I might have more on these guys as circumstances develop.

Boundary County Sheriff Update for April 2nd

On April 1, 2024, Travis Stolley responded to the attacks made on him via a series of Facebook posts. Stolley said in the post that if you wanna know the truth, meet me at Mugsy’s on April 18th between 6 and 8 PM. “Meet the Candidate. Ask Questions. Drink Beer.”

Here’s my take on this.

Travis Stolley from his Campaign Facebook page

First, this post was put on Facebook on April Fool’s Day. Is it real?

Assuming that it is, this is too little, too late in my opinion. Travis will wait to respond until April 18th and then only privately. By that time, the story will have been circulating for about a month on the Internet with no rebuttal. This was done publicly, and the response should also be publicly, not privately to a bunch of folks that were not involved.

The post from Stolley reads in part:

I will not go into any more specifics of the incident being talked about on social media other than to say this.

I tried to respect the privacy of those involved when initially asked about this incident last fall and I will continue to do so now.

I am far from a perfect person or candidate, but I will always do what I believe is the right thing. I know I did the right thing in this situation given the facts and information available at the time.

Translation: I have no comment. I did the right thing.

Conclusion: what you read online is true, but I deny that I violated the law or procedure by what I did while in uniform. Oh, and if I had to do it over, I’d do the same thing.

This type of non-answer sounds suspiciously like something you might get told to say by a sympathetic lawyer wanting you to deflect without self-incrimination.

The other thing you should know is that his date at Mugsy’s (a local restaurant and watering hole) is that it directly conflicts with the candidate forum at the same date and time. This forum is for all state constitutional offices up for grabs on the May 21st Primary ballot. The most hotly contested of these races is state Senate.

Oh, my wife has been checking up on the candidates in her travels through the area. The story she gets is that Stolley is the favorite of some of the local power brokers. Stolley’s family apparently goes way back in the community. He is the choice of the good ole boys in the county. My wife was told that due to his family connections with the area that Stolley is the odds-on favorite to win with virtually no experience. The good ole boys want Stolley because they think they can control him. This belief works out like this: due to his inexperience he will need to heavily depend on their aid to be an effective sheriff.

(Note for California readers: good ole boys, and most everyone else here, have facial hair, drive four wheel drive pickups, and wear Carhartt clothing, baseball caps, and open carry pistols.)

Oh, Dave Schuman got a positive plug. My wife was told that Dave will answer the phone if you call him for help and is an asset to the community. Schuman is described as a genuinely nice guy.

My sense that both represent the status quo and “do no harm” seems to be holding up.

In gatherings where I have met the candidates, all three seem like decent folks. I would be happy to have any one of them over for a BBQ meal—if I had a barbecue. Nevertheless, I have decided to support Jon VanGesen.

Thoughts on Biden, transgender day of whatever, and his dissing of Easter

All law is legislating morality. All law is religious. Ditto for other political acts. The is no neutrality. This is a figment of the imagination. Those claiming neutrality are simply using such a claim to force their will on others while trying to stifle any opposition as they impose their morality on others.

Such was the case yesterday when the President of the United States, for the first time in the history of the Republic, purposely dissed any proclamation of Easter and thanking God for so great a salvation. (OK, Obama got close to this, but Joe went even further.) Joe proclaimed Easter Sunday as Transgender day of Visibility. Furthermore, no Christian symbols were allowed on any Easter eggs at the traditional White House Easter Egg Hunt. Yep, I know bunnies and eggs are not really Christian but in our Hallmark culture, the two have been baptized as Easter symbols.

Biden and company have been in an all-out war on Christianity—as was Obama when sleepy Joe was his Vice-President.

Biden—who thinks he can somehow be pro-abortion (for all nine months of the pregnancy)—and a Roman Catholic in good standing is simply an evil man. The spirit of antichrist is the platform of the Democrat Party (and of many Republicans too).

As for the cult of sterility, they are claiming 28 feast days and three months of the Julian Calendar in their attempt to abolish Christianity.

Fox News Digital found at least 28 other related holidays celebrated in the U.S., including International Asexuality Day, International Day of Pink, Day of Silence, Harvey Milk Day, Pansexual and Panromantic Awareness Day and International Drag Day.

There are also entire months devoted to LGBT causes or commemorations, including Pride Month in June, LGBT History Month in October and Transgender Awareness Month in November.

3 months and 28 days: LGBTQ events clog calendar as White House faces backlash over Easter announcement

Biden should not be flying the rainbow flag or proclaiming any fag days to start with. Transgenderism is even more evil than homosexuality. It is a false and destructive religion. Changing one’s name is a sign of it being a religion. Thinking that one can change their gender is hubris and a type on mental illness. Thinking its God’s fault because He made you the wrong gender is blasphemy. On the face of it, transgender ideology violates at least half of the Ten Commandments.

To promote transgenderism (and a lot of other false crap in our society) is to tear down the Christian roots of our country.

Oh, we have known that Sunday March 31st, 2024, was Easter Sunday for at least the last four hundred years. The church calendar was figured out to the year 8,000 back in the 1600’s. So, there’s no excuse for a conflict… unless you want to have one.

Boundary County Sheriff’s Race Goes Nuclear

Hi. Just a brief update on the race. Two bombs were thrown over the last week. The two candidates claiming the mantle of “I’m from here, vote for me” are both mortally wounded. Jon VanGesen looks saintly compared to the homeboys from Bonners Ferry.

Travis Stolley was hit with a report that he covered up a child pornography case in a local school. Two minors that were 13 years old at the time were involved plus one adult male from out of state. If I understand the story correctly, one of these girls was sending photos of the other girl’s private parts to a person believed to be an adult male live elsewhere. Stolley filed no police report and made the evidence disappear. This was last year. FYI Stolley is no longer in law enforcement but wants to be sheriff. Recently, someone with insider knowledge of this incident began publicizing it on Facebook. As a result, someone else calling themselves the Boundary County Watchman, went public with the full story.

If the seriousness of the charges is your metric, this is grounds to disqualify the man for being in law enforcement.

Bomb #2 was a hit amidship on Dave Schuman. The Bonners Ferry Herald ran a story on the sheriff’s debate on March 28.

In it was this little nugget:

Schuman confirmed with the Herald he is on administrative leave pending an Idaho Police Investigation regarding police standards.

Sheriff candidate debate, more of Q&A

Sorry, but this is not a good look for Schuman. He has time to campaign because he is suspended.

Dude, like we live in Mayberry. This place is lax in many ways so what must Dave have done to be suspended? It’s a really bad look.

I think VanGesen will prevail, in part because the homeboys will split the good ole boy’s vote.
