Bobby Dog Update

I paid money to see a local attorney about the pit bull killing my dog. They took a pass on any intervention. Ditto with the local police. The pit bull must either attack a human or kill two more animals—along with people filing police reports—or nothing will happen. I was advised to work things out with the owner of the pit bull or take my chances in small claims court.

Even though the pit bull should be put down, nobody will compel the owner to do so. I was told that if the other dog owner pays the vet bill that I’m getting a deal; after all, we’re still neighbors when this all blows over. At best, the lawyer said, maybe they will give me enough money to get another dog.

Folks, I don’t want another dog. I made up my mind about that years ago. However, I thought my puppy friend would grow old and die of natural causes, not unnatural ones.

This trail, mess, or whatever it’s called, is not going how I imagined that it would. I would like restitution and to know that I did something to prevent this from happening again. Neither look likely without going to court. Whether that battle is worth fighting is unknown. Sadly, my only option at present is to wait and see if the pit bull owner makes me an offer.
