Yep, 13 months after our first payment to him, attorney Mario has finally secured a court date for November 10th. Folks, this has been a long and slow process, but the trial is finally happening. Based on my previous Internet search, once the trial happens, we will then be three to seven weeks from completion of the annulment process. Thus, my girl will likely get her wish of freedom coinciding with the end of this year.
Given this timeline, it looks like the only route available for us to be together will be the Fiancé Visa (K-1). Since we started this process, the time for processing has gone from 8 months to one year. At the same time, the processing time for a spousal visa has gone from 16 months to over two years. Other steps in the process probably require additional time.
It will be good to get the paperwork from the Philippine government behind us. I look forward to beginning the process of getting her to the United States.
